You Are What You Eat - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy Feast Uri Yuri

"You are what you eat, drink, breathe, think, say, and do." - Patricia Bragg
It IS possible to be healthy and to create a healthy lifestyle IF you truly want it bad enough. In the end, you, and you alone, determine your health - not your doctor, not your parents, not your spouse, not your genes, and not even God. In fact, God has put the responsibility for your health into your own hands, with the recommendation that you choose LIFE and not death. Every day of your life you will have to make decisions about what you will eat and drink, what you will say and do, and what you will think about. In each of these decisions, you will be choosing life or death, health or ill-health. It's all up to you, and you cannot blame anyone else for your choices.

This blog focuses on and as the cornerstone to living a . There are other important keys to health: regular exercise and deep breathing, drinking plenty of natural spring water daily, giving your body the rest it needs to rejuvenate itself, detoxifying your body and its environment, giving and receiving love and being forgiving, accepting, and thankful; and developing your spiritual life through a friendship with God. I will touch on these important keys to health occasionally, but the main focus of this blog will be on eating right and giving your body the good nutrition it needs to function the way that God intended it to.

We need to be wise regarding what we put into our bodies. The expression, "You are what you eat," is profoundly true and sobering. What we put into our bodies (food & drink) will determine what kind of life we will live. It's a simple "cause-effect" relationship. The cause is what we eat and drink, and the effect is the health or ill-health of our bodies. There is a spiritual principle involved here that comes from the Bible that says, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap."

Think for a minute how this applies to what people "sow" into their bodies every day. Whenever a person eats right and puts good nutrition into his body, he will reap health and life. On the other hand, when a person eats badly and puts refined, denatured, toxic, processed food into his body, he will reap malnutrition, ill-health, and premature death. Unfortunately, most people are deceived about this basic principle, and they continue to eat the wrong foods, all the while mystified about the various ailments they are continually suffering from. I am writing this blog to help people get free from this deception, and to guide them to living a healthy lifestyle through changing the way that they eat.

Take a look at the photograph of the nursing baby. The mother is feeding (sowing into) her baby the best possible "food" from which her baby will reap health and life. Now imagine a mother feeding her baby man-made refined and processed "formula," and imagine the malnutrition and ill-health that baby will experience as a result. God, or what some people like to call "mother nature," knows what is best for our bodies, which is why we should all eat organic whole foods rather than all the processed junk they sell in the supermarkets.

Eat to Live - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"Eat to live; don't live to eat."

One of the and is to eat for the right reasons. Have you ever thought of that? Have you ever asked yourself why you eat every day? It seems, on the surface, like a simple question with an obvious answer. However, when you understand the deeper ramifications of this question, you will realize that it is really quite a profound question.

"WHY DO YOU EAT?"

Some people eat as though they were going to go out and do the hardest kind of physical labor! They sit down at the table, for example, and eat a large heavy breakfast loaded with protein, carbohydrates, fats, and sugars. And yet the truth is that they are very sedentary people who eat out of habit and conditioning. These same people often work in an office or in a store where they sit or stand around all day doing very little physical labor at all. They will usually eat a quite unhealthy snack in the morning. Around noon they will eat a heavy meal, followed a little later by an afternoon snack. After work, they come home and have the biggest meal of the day consisting of meat, potatoes, bread, dessert, and a beverage. Typically they watch TV after dinner while eating yet another fattening snack.

The person living the average, inactive and sedentary life can't possibly burn up these large amounts of food! What happens to people who eat this way? They end up being overweight or obese, they feel tired or exhausted most of the time, and they live their entire lives being sick or half-sick. They fill the doctors' offices, pharmacies, and hospitals with all the health problems brought on by their unhealthy eating habits.

This kind of daily compulsive is making millions of people exhausted, fat, and sick. This habitual over-eating is sending them to doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, and too many to an early grave! As the Roman philosopher, Seneca, once said, "Men do not die; they kill themselves." This tragic story is being played out all across the Western world. Millions of people are grossly and sick due to and poor .

Not only do millions of people overeat or overfuel their bodies, but they also overfuel on the wrong kinds of food. The food that they consume is generally not nutritious and is loaded with toxins and other substances that make their bodies fatter and sicker and more tired. Because their bodies are truly malnourished from bad nutrition, they constantly feel hungry because their bodies are not getting the nutrients that they need. In addition, overeating puts a severe strain on the body's organs and the digestive tract to try to keep up with all of that food. By overeating they are stressing out the machinery of their entire body because they never give their body time to rest and repair itself. What they really need to do is to get into the habit of fasting one day a week to help their system unclog and cleanse itself.

EAT TO LIVE; DON'T LIVE TO EAT

Now, getting back to our original question: "Why do you eat?" Many people eat three large meals a day because they were told at a young age that they should. They have been conditioned to eating not only three large daily meals, but also to eating snacks throughout the day. I believe that most people eat this way out of habit and conditioning, and for the wrong reasons. A lot of times people eat because it meets some deep emotional need in their souls such as comfort, which is why we call some foods, "comfort foods." Some people overeat because they are lonely and eating food makes them feel better. Some people overeat simply because they are bored. Other people overeat because they are simply gluttens, meaning they have an unhealthy kind of "lust" for food that gives them a lot of pleasure and a physical high. All of these reasons are not good or healthy reasons to eat or to overeat.

EAT FOR NUTRITION AND ENERGY AND LIFE

I would like to suggest that the best reasons to eat (not overeat) are to feed your body the good nutrition it needs, to provide your body the energy it needs to work and live, and to give your body the life that it needs to be happy and productive. In other words, "eat to live!" Think of food as fuel for your body. You can put in good high-quality fuel that will energize your body and help you accomplish what you need to every day, or you can put in bad poor-quality fuel that will cause your body to feel tired, weak, and sickly and will prevent you from accomplishing what you need to do.

Finally, there is a time and a place to enjoy the pleasure of eating good food. God created us to enjoy great variety of foods that He put on the earth. Enjoying good healthy food is a blessing from God that we should be thankful for. However, we do need to protect our hearts from gluttony and overeating by practicing moderation in our eating habits. My advice to you is to reflect a while on why you eat, and then make some healthy changes. Start thinking differently about food and eating. Discipline your body and make it your servant, rather than your body being the master and you being the slave to its appetite. Take control of your appetite and eating habits, and learn the healthy habit of eating to live. To your health, the Naked Nutrition Knight

Add the Keys of EXERCISE & DEEP BREATHING to Eating Healthy & Good Nutrition

Daily Quote: "Exercise helps you lose and control weight in two ways. First, by elevating your metabolism you burn more calories. Second, by building muscle - which requires more energy to maintain - you use even more calories. Exercising promotes better elimination and circulation that helps body cleansing!" - Paul Bragg

"Breathing deeply, fully and completely energizes the body, calms the nerves, fills you with peace, and helps keep you youthful." - Paul Bragg

A very important part of a healthy lifestyle is to exercise your body consistently and to practice deep breathing. These are in addition, of course, to and . Let me emphasize that the starting point to improving your health and losing unhealthy weight is to start eating healthy live organic whole food and to stop eating denatured, packaged, unhealthy dead processed man-made "foods" which are loaded with toxins, unhealthy fats, sugars, salt, and excit0-toxins. In other words, first focus on creating a healthy nutritious diet that will sustain your body and give it the nutrition it needs to function properly, and then, add healthy daily and deep breathing.

A few years ago when I was trying to improve my health and lose weight, I first completely transformed my diet and eating habits. I quickly started losing weight and enjoying better health. However, my weight loss slowly came to a standstill after losing about 15 pounds. I couldn't figure out why until I realized that I wasn't exercising.

As soon as I started daily exercising, something changed in my body and I began to continue to lose more weight. I believe now that "something" was my changing from a slowed down metabolism to a higher metabolism. In other words, because I had added regular exercise to my body and routine, my metabolism sped up and adjusted itself in order to burn fat more efficiently and to stop storing fat as it had been. This one change made a huge impact on my and my . I not only lost another 10-12 pounds, but I became more physically fit.

Regular exercise can benefit your body in many ways. First, exercise helps break up and tension and helps release it from the body. Stress is negative energy that wears down your body, but exercise allows it to leave the body. Second, exercise increases to the cells, which is necessary for life and vitality. Third, exercise stimulates every in the body in order to help eliminate toxic waste. Every cell produces its own toxic waste, and every cell needs stimulation to eliminate that toxic waste and remain healthy. Fourth, exercise increases the movement of in the body, which is an important factor in the process of elimination of toxins. Most people's lymphatic systems are dangerously sluggish and clogged, and moving the body through exercise helps to start moving the lymph fluid. Fifth, exercise opens the channels in the body to help the to flow freely and unhindered. This energy gives life to the body's cells, but it must not be blocked or congested in order for it to flow freely through the body to do its job of energizing the body's cells.

5-STEP EXERCISE ROUTINE FOR FITNESS & WEIGHT LOSS

I would like to share with you the 5-step exercise routine that I used to help me get over the hump and lose even more weight, as well as to become more physically fit. I encourage you to follow my example and start implementing a daily exercise routing including these 5 steps. One of the keys to my exercise routine was to include both aerobic and anaerobic exercise on a consistent daily basis.

One of the main reasons why I had gained weight was that my metabolism had slowed down. When I was younger, I could eat almost anything without gaining weight because I had a fast metabolism. However, once I got into my forties, my metabolism really slowed down and I started gaining quite a bit of weight because I was not eating the right kinds of food and I wasn't exercising. There are certain glands and organs in the body (such as the thyroid, pancreas, liver, stomach, small & large intestines, and colon) that regulate how well the body burns food for fuel and how it also converts food into stored fat. When some of these glands and organs are clogged or sluggish or not functioning properly, a person's metabolism slows down and starts converting more and more food into fat instead of fuel.

What are the two biggest reasons for a slow metabolism?

The first major cause of a slow metabolism is the amount of toxins you are putting into your body. Most of these toxins enter your body through what you eat and drink, in other words, through an unhealthy diet. These toxins include artificial food additives, chemical residues used in growing food that are transfered to your body, artificial sweeteners like aspartame and excito-toxins like MSG, prescription & non-prescription drugs, as well as toxins in the water supply such as fluoride & chlorine. These toxins cause your metabolism to slow down, which in turn causes your body to store your food energy as fat.

The second major cause of a slow metabolism is a low amount of muscle in your body and a lack of regular walking exercise. The more muscle your body has, the higher your metabolism will be. Unfortunately, most Americans have an abnormally low amount of muscles in their bodies, which means that they don't burn calories as efficiently as they could. Also, a lack of walking exercise significantly lowers a person's metabolism. The human body is designed to walk, and when a person stops walking on a daily basis, their metabolism adjusts and begins to slow down.

STEP I - Take a swift "POWER WALK" every day in the sunshine for 30-60 minutes. Your body was designed to walk. Walking every day will help make you thin and keep you thin because it gives your body the kind of exercise it needs, and because it will help to readjust your metabolism by speeding it up to burn fat more efficiently and to stop storing energy fuel as fat. The common denominator of thin, lean people all over the world is that they walk over 5 miles a day, whereas the typical American walks only one tenth of a mile a day. Remember, don't just go for a slow casual "stroll" through the park. A power walk means that you are to walk swiftly with exertion so that your heart and lungs have to work harder. If you want to, you may combine walking with some jogging. I would recommend that you use your 30-60 minutes of walking time to pray, or to meditate, or to listen to inspiring music on your iPod. After you get in the habit of taking your daily power walk, your body will crave this activity and you will look forward to it every day. It won't be a drudgery, but rather a joy and pleasure. Oh, I almost forgot. Don't do your power walk on busy streets that are filled with toxic poisonous gases from cars, buses, and trucks. Find a peaceful, quiet place like a local park where you can breathe in fresh, clean air.

STEP II - Practice DEEP BREATHING EXERCISES to increase the oxygen in your lungs and body. Most people don't breathe deeply enough to stimulate their metabolism and fat burning capabilities. You can do this throughout your day, but make sure to do this especially while you are out taking your power walk. Learn to start breathing in very deeply, from your belly, up through your lungs, filling your lungs with more and more oxygen. I'm normally a very shallow breather; however, by practicing deep breathing exercises, I have been able to increase the amount of oxygen in my lungs, which has had an effect on my whole body. I would recommend that you practice breathing deeply throughout your day. Write on a small index card the words, "Breathe deeply," and tape it in front of your desk or computer and in your car as an hourly reminder.

STEP III - LIFT SMALL WEIGHTS every other day to increase your muscle strength. Get a set of 3 pound or 5 pound weights to start out with. After several months, you can increase the weight from 3 to 5 pounds, or from 5 to 10 pounds. Develop some simple lifting routines to work your various upper body muscles. Keep a record of how many repetitions you do, and then try to increase that every day. When I first started doing this, I actually combined my small routine with a small stepper so that I was working my lower body as well. You can find a small stepper machine at your local sporting goods store. It's a small 1 foot by 1 foot machine that you stand on and step up and down on. It has small hydraulic pumps that create resistance so that it gives you the feeling that you're climbing stairs. I recommend that you do this along with your weight lifting routine so that you're exercising both your upper and lower body. Start slowly lifting weights every other day for about 10 minutes, and then increase that time slowly until you're doing this for 20-30 minutes a day. Remember, only lift weights every other day, not every day because your muscles need time to rest and rebuild themselves. You'll be amazed at the difference 20 minutes a day of small weight lifting will do for your body.

STEP IV - Use a "REBOUNDER" for 5-10 minutes a day. A rebounder is a mini-trampoline about 4 feet in diameter, on which you gently bounce up and down. Doing this allows you to stimulate and strengthen every cell in your body simultaneously, stimulate your lymphatic system, and increase your metabolism. It is also very effective for weight loss.

STEP V - SEXERCISE daily. Enjoy the pleasure of vigorous sex with your spouse daily. Incorporate sexercise into your daily romantic workout, but don't let it become routine. Keep it creative and diversified. Various studies have shown that vigorous daily sex burns fat and improves your health. If you don't believe me, try it. It's fun, it's free, and it feels fantastic!

We Must Complement Good Nutrition and Eating Healthy with Organic Whole Food Supplements

What is the SECRET to enjoying the health and vitality experienced by our forefathers? The answer is simple and indisputable: Live Whole Food Nutrition! For centuries our ancestors received from whole food sources such as grains, seeds, legumes, beans, nuts, vegetables, greens, sprouts, fruits and berries. These were all grown in chemical-free and pesticide-free soil that was rich in probiotics, minerals, fulvic acid, and enzymes.

In today's world, our bodies still need the complete and natural balance of pure nutrients and energy provided by live whole foods. The demands of our modern fast-paced stressful world have led to the processing of food to the point of non-nutrition. Authentic food value has been sacrificed for convenience. Due to the life-destroying practices of the food-producing and food-processing industries, our modern-day foods are nutritionally inferior to the food our grandparents ate 2 or 3 generations ago. The grains, vegetables, meat, and dairy products they ate had a higher vitamin, mineral, and protein content, and they were free from DDT, hormones, preservatives, insecticides, and other chemicals and drugs. The natural live whole food that our ancestors ate has been replaced with chemically modified products that can cause illness and many physical health problems.

In this day and age, we are not only eating food, but our food is eating us. Some people try to counteract the impact of poor nutrition with "processed nutritional supplements" in the form of man-made isolated synthetic vitamins (lifeless chemicals) and inorganic minerals that their bodies cannot use and that are only slightly more beneficial than the processed foods that created the problem.

The solution to this national nutritional crisis we are facing is simply getting back to basics. We need to get back to a complete balance of live whole foods, just the way that nature intended for healthy lifestyles. Supplementing our diet with live whole food nutritional products will provide that balance we need. The KEY to this balance is feeding your body the live whole food nutrition that it knows and that it needs.

The prime purpose of taking daily nutritional whole food supplements is to fill in the nutritional gaps produced by poor eating habits and by nutritionally-inferior foods. Let's face it: Americans are not known for eating healthy. We are known for our fast food restaurants, our junk food, our super sweet and overly fat foods. Food supplements will replace in your diet the good nutrition that is missing in food grown on depleted soils, lost in storage and transportation, and removed by food processing.

Another important reason to add to your diet is that they provide your only available protection against the harmful effects of today's toxic environment. Many of the nutrients in organic whole food supplements have protective properties against the damaging effects of poisonous additives, residues, and poisons that are lurking in our air, water, food, clothing, cosmetics, household cleaners, etc.

In conclusion, there are two main reasons to take whole food supplements. The first reason is because today's food is not as nutritious as it was 100 years ago as a result of farming methods that have leached the soil of necessary minerals and nutrients. The second reason is that today's food, water, air, and living environments are loaded with toxins that need to be combated with supplements in order to protect our health. If you are interested in finding out more about an amazing live whole food nutritional supplement called "The Feast," go to the top left corner of my blog and click on the link that says "Try the Feast - the single most nutritional experience of your life." This is an incredibly healthy live whole food product that delivers a full, synergistic spectrum of: 30 antioxidant rich fruits and berries, 30 powerful greens and vegetables, 11 nutrient dense seeds, nuts, and sprouts; 83+ active enzymes and fulvic minerals, and 22 strains of resilient living probiotics. For me and my family, in addition to every day, is our one source of complete nutrition. I encourage you to check it out for yourself.

8 Keys to Eating Healthy Nutrition Properly - Part 2

Today we will discuss the remaining 5 to properly. Our emphasis is on HOW to eat correctly because your will affect your health.

Key #4 - Practice conscious under-eating. The less you eat, the better you will feel because your digestive system will not be overloaded. This is the Number 1 health and longevity principle. Remember, over-eating is one of the main causes of premature aging and degenerative illnesses.

Key #5 - Eat fruit by itself. Don't mix fruit with your meal; it is best eaten alone for digestion purposes. Many older people say that they can't eat fruit because it gives them gas. However, the real problem is not the fruit, but rather that they are eating fruit along with other foods which causes it to putrefy in their systems. The secret to eating fruit is simply to eat it by itself on an empty stomach.

Key #6 - Eat your whole meal within a one-hour period. Do not go past 60 minutes because your body will kick in another boost of insulin.

Key #7 - Learn not to drink fluids while eating your meal. Liquids will only dilute the digestive enzymes and slow down the whole digestion process. There is a time to drink lots of liquids, and that time is between meals, not during meals.

Key #8 - Give thanks to God for the food He provides you. Be grateful for the abundance of His provision.

Bonus Suggestions - Eat several smaller meals in preference to two larger meals. Also, try not to mix too many foods at any one meal. Keeping it simple will enhance your digestion and assimilation. And finally, don't mix raw vegetables and raw fruits at the same meal because the digestive enzymes are incompatible, and this will result in gas and poor digestion.

8 Keys to Learning How to Eat Healthy Good Nutrition Properly - Part I

Knowing WHAT to eat is critical to . However, it's also important to learn HOW to eat properly because the way you eat affects your health. I would like to give you eight on proper eating habits.

Key #1 - Eat only when you are truly hungry. If you aren't hungry at mealtime, skip the meal. Too often people end up eating when they aren't even hungry purely out of habit instead of need.

Key #2 - Eat slowly and chew your food well. The enzymes in your saliva begin the digestion process; therefore, chew your food thoroughly. Never eat in a hurry. Far too many people suffer from poor digestion because they don't practice this common sense principle.

Key #3 - Relax when you eat and make it a truly enjoyable culinary experience. This is something we can learn from some of the more laid back southern Europeans who truly take the time to relax and enjoy social time around their meals. Also, never eat when you are upset because your emotional turmoil will lead to digestive turmoil as well.

Daily Quote: "Chew your solid foods until they are liquid; no stomach has teeth." - Paul C. Bragg

Eating Healthy Good Nutritious Food Will Be Your Remedy

"Your Food Will Be Your Remedy," said Hippocrates, the great physician-teacher and father of medicine. In this profound maxim, Hippocrates described the secret to living a healthy lifestyle. Natural, organic, fresh fruits, berries, greens, vegetables, seeds, nuts, and sprouts have remarkable nutritive compounds that give life to the human body and help cleanse, purify, and rebuild the body when it is weakened and struggling to overcome ailments. These live are loaded with thousands of naturally occurring nutritional compounds, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, antioxidants, live enzymes, and amino acids in their natural synergistic state that can only be obtained from these live foods. These bioavailable nutrients cannot be isolated and placed into a synthetic vitamin or mineral supplement.

Now, think with me for a moment about your daily . Is the food you're eating being a "remedy" or a curse to your body? If you were to take Hippocrates' wisdom and apply it to your lifestyle, what would your eating habits look like? What kind of would you be putting into your body? Which denatured processed toxic foods would you stop buying and stop eating? What fresh produce would you start eating several times a day? I want this blog to be personal and practical, not theoretical. My hope is that the information you learn from this blog will lead you to make some very significant changes to your eating habits. Start applying this ancient wisdom to your diet today by making good nutritional choices one day at a time. Decide right now that your food will be your remedy and that you will start .
