Ultimate Nutrition - Keys to Good Nutrition & Eating Healthy Feast on Organic Whole Food

INTRODUCING THE BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY THAT LOCKS IN THE REAL NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF FRESH ORGANIC FRUITS AND VEGETABLES - GUARANTEED!

This article was written by David Uri LeBaron,
pioneer and innovator of live, whole food-based nutrition,
expert with over 30 years of experience in whole foods, herbs, and nutrition,
developer of the proprietary Insta-Fresh Drying Process that preserves higher nutritional qualities than any other drying process in the world,
and founder and CEO of Uri International, a leading company in the development of whole food-based nutrition.

"Today I'd like to share with you another reason why The Feast gives you REAL nutrition as only whole food-based nutrition can. It's your most convenient source of REAL whole food-based nutrition that's

An unparalleled quality, quantity, variety, and value
of live whole foods and fresh raw juice concentrates.

The Feast gives you a quality, quantity, variety, and value of REAL whole food-based nutrition found nowhere else.

It's the one and only live whole food-based nutritional product on the planet that delivers a full, synergistic spectrum of over 176 all natural ingredients, including:

30 antioxidant rich fruits and berries

30 powerful greens and vegetables

11 nutrient dense seeds, nuts, and sprouts

83 plus active enzymes and full spectrum fulvic mineral blend

22 resilient living, beneficial probiotics

All in ONE concentrated whole food-based supplement for today's active and demanding lifestyles. Feed your body the feast it deserves!

But there's even more.

This unique breakthrough gives you more REAL whole food-based nutrition than any other supplement, formula, or green food or drink I've ever seen because...

It locks in the nutritional INTEGRITY of these fruits, vegetables and whole foods, so you get the nutritional benefits as Nature intended!

As soon as a fruit or vegetable is picked off the vine, it begins to die. So if you eat an apple or a tomato that's been picked days or weeks ago, you don't get all of its nutritional benefits. You may only get a fraction.

But not so with the fruits, vegetables, and whole foods found in the Feast. Many are locally grown, on our own certified organic farmland or on our network of partner farms that produce organic and/or natural crops, so we can control the freshness of the harvest.

This farmland is some of the most nutrient rich soil on earth! This fertile land began as a prehistoric lakebed, layered with deep soil, created and kept rich by volcanic ash, mountain run off, and organic matter.

It's absolutely laden with selenium, friendly and beneficial organisms, fulvic acid, rare earth and vital plant micronutrients necessary for optimal plant growth.

Combine this with clean air, sunshine, elevation, low humidity, proper crop rotation, and continued re-mineralization from surrounding snow capped mountains, and you get SUPERIOR, NUTRIENT DENSE, ORGANIC CROPS!

What's more, I even have samples of the fruits and vegetables delivered to me so I can check if they're ready for harvest. If they are not ready for harvest, we wait. If so, we pick...then quickly wash them, turn them into juice, and use the InstaFresh Drying Process to "lock in" the nutritional value and integrity of these fruits and vegetables.

The result?
A synergistic, all natural, nutritionally balanced combination of Nature's most beneficial whole food concentrates, minerals, enzymes, and probiotics.
All in a delicious, easy-to-use drink!"

Top 12 Organic Foods - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy Feast on Organic Whole Food

THE DIRTY DOZEN: TOP 12 FOODS TO EAT ORGANIC

I found this article on the top 12 foods to eat on the Daily Green website.

www.thedailygreen.com

"Not all of us can afford to go 100% organic. The solution? Focus on just those foods that are laden with the highest amounts of
, chemicals, additives and and deploy your organic spending power on buying versions of these whenever possible. Can't find organic versions of these foods? We've listed safer alternatives that contain the same valuable vitamins and minerals.

1. Beef - According to the Environmental Protection Agency, "meat contains higher levels of pesticides than any of the plant foods." Similar to milk and milk-based dairy products, many chemical pesticides end up in the animal, which end up in you.

2. Milk - The fat in dairy products is another haven for pesticides and chemicals. They also concentrate in the fatty tissues of animals, which gets passed on to you through their milk. Antibiotics and bovine growth hormones are another concern and found in commercial milk, cheese and butter. Organic dairies do not use antibiotics or growth hormones like rGBH or rbST.

3. Coffee - Many of the beans you buy are grown in countries that don't regulate use of chemicals and pesticides. Look for the Fair Trade Certified label on the coffee package or can; it will give you some assurance that chemicals and pesticides were not used on the plants. It will also mean that fair prices were paid for the end product in support of the farm and that farm workers are treated fairly.

4. Peaches - Forty-five different pesticides are regularly applied to these delicately skinned fruits in conventional orchards. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Watermelon, tangerines, oranges and grapefruit.

5. Apples - Scrubbing and peeling doesn't eliminate chemical residue completely so it's best to buy organic when it comes to apples. Peeling a fruit or vegetable also strips away many of their beneficial nutrients. Organic apples taste sweeter than conventionally grown, too. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Watermelon, bananas and tangerines.

6. Sweet Bell Peppers - Peppers have thin skins that don't offer much of a barrier to pesticides. They're one of te most heavily sprayed vegetables out there and victim to thirty-nine pesticides commonly use to keep them insect-free. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Green peas, broccoli and cabbage.

7. Celery - Celery has no protective skin, which makes it almost impossible to wash off the twenty-nine different chemicals that are used on conventional crops. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Broccoli, radishes and onions.

8. Strawberries - On average, strawberries receive a dose of up to 500 pounds of pesticides per acre. If you buy strawberries out of season, they're most likely imported from countries that use less-stringent regulations for pesticide use. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Blueberries, kiwi and pineapples.

9. Lettuces - Leafy greens are frequently contaminated with want are considered the most potent pesticides used on food. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Cabbage, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts.

10. Grapes - Imported grapes run a much greater risk of contamination than those grown domestically. Vineyards can be sprayed with thirty-five different pesticides during different growth periods of the grape and no amount of washing or peeling will eliminate contamination because of the grape's permeable thin skin. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Blueberries, kiwi and raspberries.

11. Potatoes - America's popular spud ranks hight for pesticide residue. It also gets the double whammy of fungicides added to the soil for growing. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Eggplant, cabbage and earthy mushrooms.

12. Tomatoes - The standard regimen of pesticides used on conventionally raised tomatoes are thirty. Their easily punctured skins are no match for chemicals that will eventually permeate the whole tomato. Can't find organic? Safe alternatives: Green peas, broccoli and asparagus.

If the cost of buying all organics isn't within your budget, fear not. Check out The Daily Green's top ten list of fruit and vegetables you don't need to buy organic, with tips for buying and how to clean, store and use them in delicious recipes."

Juice Fasting Pt 7 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast

What to DRINK during your Juice Fast

JUICES

The best kind of juice to drink during your juice fast is fresh, live home-made juice. If you have a juicer, you can make your own fresh juice just before drinking it. Do NOT drink pasteurized, processed, preserved bottled or canned juices that are found in the supermarket. These juices are dead, are often loaded with sugar and high fructose corn syrup, and are very unhealthy for you. Do NOT drink these because they are dead juices.

There are several good books out there that have recipes for juicing and juice fasting.

Drink juices made from fresh fruits, berries, greens, and vegetables.

The fruit juices most frequently used during juice fasts are: apple, orange, grapefruit, lemon, grapes, pineapple, and pear.

Here are some recommended vegetable juices: carrot, beets, celery, cabbage, as well as green juice (chlorophyll drink) made from green leaves of alfalfa, wheat grass, comfrey, carrot tops, beet tops, and/or other available edible greens.

If you don't have a juicer, you can do what I do, which is to mix up a large glass of The Feast, by Uri International. The Feast is a live whole food based InstaFresh super juice powdered mix that has over 30 fresh fruits and berries and 30 fresh greens and vegetables in it. It is not pasteurized and has no sugar or artificial sweeteners in it. It is a very convenient way to drink your fresh live whole food fruits, berries, greens, and vegetables during your juice fast. At the bottom of this posting is a link for more information about and how you can order some.

It is usually best to dilute your fresh fruit and vegetable juices with water about 50%-50%.

NATURAL SPRING WATER

In addition to drinking fresh juices, you can also drink plenty of natural spring water or artesian well water. Do NOT drink tap water or bottled water that is made from tap water because of all of the harmful chemicals and toxins.

FRESH MADE VEGETABLE BROTH

In my next posting I'll teach you how to make a VEGETABLE BROTH, which is another thing you can drink while doing a juice fast.

Holiday Eating - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast

Greetings, my friends.

As the holidays approach, I'd like to share an article that one of my friends and business partners wrote recently. The title of this article is: "You Should Try Eating Healthy Nutritious Food with the Uri Feast."

The following article was written by Merry K.

During the holidays we sort of "throw all caution to the wind" when it comes to our food choices. And if we do that for several weeks we typically feel fatter, and more tired, as well as, regretful by the start of the New Year.

If you're waiting to get healthy till after the 1st of the Year, I'm here to tell you that you don't have to wait.

Plus, you can still enjoy the luxury of typically "forbidden" goodies. The key is...putting in at least an equaivalent amount of nutrious food as you do less nutritious food. This will give a sort of counter-acting effect when you know you're going to be splurging on those things.

Do any of us get the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day? Doubtful. And most especially NOT during the holidays! I would consider myself a "health nut". However, I was NEVER able to obtain that goal in my daily routine...either for me or the rest of the family!

In May, we (me, my husband and children) all began taking THE FEAST concentrated juice powder. In one serving we all get the equivalent nutrients of 4 servings of fruits and vegetables. The results?? ...

-Our cravings for unhealthy foods have GREATLY diminished (both us and the children)

-Our sugar intake is decreased by probably 90%-We are not anywhere near as hungry as before, therefore our weight as dropped (My hubby- 15lbs, Myself - 13lbs)

-My bloodsugar is more stable now as a result of eating healthier, because I'm not desiring carbs all the time.

-We are consistently craving raw, fresh vegetables and fruits over anything else-We feel more ALIVE and HEALTHIER than EVER!!

-And because of the results mentioned above, we are now excercising consistently too!

Please note...This is NOT a weight loss product. It's pure and simple. Just live, whole-food based juice. That's it. So, if you want to give yourself a gift this Christmas and/or New Year, why not try eating healthy nutritious food with THE URI FEAST? It will give you such an advantage to overcoming those hurdles we all face during this season.

Samples are available. So there's no valid excuse not to give it a try!! Don't miss this opportunity to make a REAL change to your life and health.

MERRY K.
----------------------------------- End of article

My commentary:

I agree with what Merry has written above, and I know that she is telling the truth because I have also experienced the same benefits from drinking Uri's nutritional supplements. My wife and kids and I all drink the Feast every morning in the form of a big delicious smoothie. It keeps me feeling energetic and full all morning, and it the help that my family and I need in terms of getting our 5-9 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables every day.

Instead of throwing all caution to the wind this Christmas season, I encourage you to choose health and choose life. Realizing that the Feast and Beyond Berries are the healthiest and best whole food based super juices on the market today is one of the and .

Choosing a SuperJuice - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU CHOOSE A SUPER JUICE NUTRITIONAL PRODUCT FROM AMONG SO MANY IN THE MARKETPLACE?

There are sooooooo many products and companies out there now selling healthy nutritional products, supplements, and . I'm sure you've heard of many of them such as Xango, Himalayan Goji, MonaVie, Noni-Juice, Juice Plus, Mango-Xan, Thai-Go, etc.

My friend, if you're trying to decide which product is best for you, I'd like to share with you some insight that could help you make the wisest decision.

SEVEN THINGS YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHEN CHOOSING A SUPER JUICE PRODUCT

The biggest nutritional problems I've found with most of these products and companies include the following 7 issues:

1. Most of them are selling a liquid "super juice" that has been pasteurized and treated with preservatives to keep the product from becoming moldy on the shelf. By law, the FDA requires all liquid "juice" products to be pasteurized, which means that the fruit and/or berry juice has been processed by heating it to high temperatures to kill all bacteria. The process of pasteurization not only kills all of the bad bacteria, but it also kills most of the good bacteria and good nutritional compounds found in the juice. The original raw fruit and/or berry (such as mangosteen, wolfberry-goji, noni fruit, acai berry, etc.)certainly has a lot of powerful nutritive compounds in it, including antioxidants, vitamins, phytonutrients, etc. However, after undergoing the intense heating involved in pasteurization, the value of those fruits and/or berries have been greatly diminished and destroyed.

Now, let me ask you a question. Do you really want to be drinking a liquid super juice product that has been pasteurized with high heat, that has lost most of its nutritional value, and that has added chemical preservatives? I DON't.

2. Most liquid "super juices" sell you their product in a flashy heavy glass bottle that makes it look very appealing, but is very expensive to ship. However, the down side of this is that if you become a distributor for that product, you will end up having to pay a considerable amount on shipping and handling fees because, as everyone knows, glass is very heavy and expensive to ship. Can you imagine ordering a whole case and the exhorbinant cost of shipping? Even if the company doesn't use glass bottles, and instead uses plastic bottles, every one knows that shipping a heavy liquid product is much more expensive than shipping a light powdered product. Question: Do you really want to be buying and shipping heavy liquid products all over the country? Someone's going to be paying for that expensive shipping - either you or your poor customers.

3. Most liquid "super juices" are centered around one dominant super fruit or super berry. For example, whole companies have been built around noni fruit, or goji juice, or mangosteen, or acai berry. Granted, each one of these are truly "super" fruits or berries, but one super fruit/berry can't possibly have all of the 1,000s of nutritive compounds that a person needs in their diet. Yes, it's a great fruit or berry, but it's not enough. It's just one good food element. What about the many others that we need? Some of these companies have realized this point, and they have recently added additional fruits and/or berries to their formulas for this very reason. Now, instead of having just one "super" fruit or berry, they added 3 or 5 or 9 more to give them a more balanced and rounded product. Good for them, but it's still not enough. Question: Would you prefer getting the nutritional health benefits of 15 or 30 fruits and berries, or benefit only from 5 or 9? How important to you is variety and diversity in your super juice?

4. Most liquid "super juices" offer their customers a daily serving size of only 2 fluid ounces. In other words, a bottle of their super juice is a month's supply, and the daily serving size is only 1 fluid ounce. In my opinion, that is a very very tiny serving size that can't possibly have very much nutritional value over the course of a whole day. Question: Wouldn't you prefer having a daily serving size of 6-8 fluid ounces of your super juice? Wouldn't you feel like you were getting more nutrition from 6-8 ounces versus 1 ounce?

5. Most liquid "super juices" have compromised on the quality of their ingredients. As you're doing your research on various products and companies, make sure that they use all natural live whole food ingredients that are certified organic and/or are free of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Also, make sure that they use NO PRESERVATIVES, NO FILLERS, NO EXCIPIENTS, NO ADDITIVES, NO DAIRY, NO GMO (genetically modified foods), NO PASTEURIZATION, and NO IRRADIATION. When it comes to your buying and consuming a super juice product, it's extremely important to make sure that you know what you're getting and where you're getting it from. You need to know what's in it and how it was processed. Ask lots of questions until you uncover the truth and the facts. Question: What's really in the product you're buying and drinking? Do you know all the ingredient and quality facts?

6. Some liquid "super juices" use processed sugars and/or artificial sweeteners that are unhealthy and cause all kinds of health problems. I was shocked to find that one very popular company puts high fructose corn syrup in their children's products. The only sweeteners that should be used in a super juice are raw honey, stevia, agave nectar, and naturally sweet fruit juices. Some of these companies actually put cheap "fillers" in their products in order to save money, resulting in the customer getting an inferior and less healthy product, so beware. Question: Are there artificial sweeteners and fillers in your super juice?

7. Most "super juices" only include fruits and/or berries, with very few if any vegetables and greens. Why is this? I don't know, but I can't see any reason for it. Question: Wouldn't you prefer getting fruits, berries, vegetables, and greens all mixed in your super juice for you and your children's nutritional health if it tasted good?

At this point, I'd like to share with you the facts about URI International's flagship "super juice" products, The Feast and Beyond Berries. These two products are and .

Fruits & Vegetables - Keys to Good Nutrition and to Eating Healthy With the Feast

HAVE YOU HAD YOUR 5-12 SERVINGS OF FRESH VEGETABLES AND FRUIT TODAY?

HOW ABOUT YOUR KIDS?

According to current nutritional research, you and I are supposed to be eating 5-12 servings of fresh vegetables and fruit every day to achieve optimal health and to protect our bodies from free radicals and various serious illnesses.

Now, let me ask you: How many people do you know who do this on a daily basis?

I bet that if you took a poll today, you'd find that only about 5 people out of a 100 actually eat 5-12 servings of vegetables and fruit every day. And this "guesstimate" is probably high; it's probably more like 2% of the population.

Why is this the case here in America and the Western world?

I would suggest that there are several reasons. First, we are no longer an agricultural-based society, so we are much removed from the farm and growing crops and having our own gardens and fruit trees. This means that we are almost entirely dependent upon supermarkets to provide us with vegetables and fruits. Here the problem gets more complicated because the vegetables and fruits sold in supermarkets often comes from thousands of miles away and are picked way before they are ripe. In addition, most of the produce is grown with pesticides and herbicides, which means our bodies are getting a toxic overload when we eat this supermarket produce. Furthermore, most supermarkets charge a lot of money for fresh fruit and berries, and even vegetables are getting pricier these days. In other words, it's not cheap to buy plenty of good quality produce.

Secondly, buying, washing, and storing vegetables and fruit is just too time-consuming for many people's fast-paced lifestyles. They may try buying it, but they get tired of having to wash it and prepare it for meals, so a lot of it goes to waste. As a result of this problem, some people resort to eating only frozen or canned vegetables and fruit (which is not healthy), or they just stop eating fruits and vegetables altogether.

The end result is that most people are not eating 5-12 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables every day...they're not even coming close. On a good day, they may eat 1 or 2 servings, and on their best day, maybe 3 or 4 servings. On an average day, none or maybe 1.

SO... WHAT'S THE SOLUTION TO THEIR PROBLEM?
What's the answer to this situation?

Here's what I would recommend to you and your family.

#1 - Make a commitment to start buying and eating fresh produce again. Learn to put up with the inconvenience of it for the sake of your health. Look for produce markets that carry fresh organic vegetables and fruit, and do your shopping there and not at your local supermarket.

#2 - Start taking the Feast every day, both you and your family. The Feast is a live whole food based InstaFresh juice powder that you simply add to water, mix, and drink. It's made by URI International, and it's loaded with the most nutritionally powerful greens and vegetables, fruits and berries, on the earth.

Why should you be taking this ?

Simply because it's a way for you and your family to fill in the nutritional gaps in your diet and to help you get the 5-12 servings of into your body every day. It's like having the whole produce aisle in a glass that you can drink in 20 seconds. It's convenient, lifestyle friendly, and extremely nutritious. Healthy Dietary Fiber Is a Key to Good Nutrition and Eating Healthy

Daily Quote: "I believe that no single factor plays a more significant role in the origin of disease - or in its cure or prevention - than obtaining sufficient dietary FIBER." - Ted Broer

One of the most important to and to is getting enough dietary fiber in your foods every day. Your , especially the colon and large intestine, become constipated when too little water and dietary fiber are consumed. The U.S. Public Health Service has stated that approximately 90% of all Americans have a clogged colon to some degree. It is sad but true that Americans are one of the most constipated people in the whole world. We should be eating at least 25-30 grams of fiber a day, but shockingly, many Americans have a hard time consuming 30 grams of fiber a week!

According to licensed nutritionist and exercise physiologist, Ted Broer, "I am also convinced that no other single health condition plays so great a role in the development of disease as does constipation. Constipation has been shown to have a role in the development of hemorrhoids, heart disease, artherosclerosis, cancer (too many types to mention), diabetes, gall bladder disease, kidney stones and ulcers - just to name a few."

WHAT IS FIBER & WHAT DOES IT DO FOR YOUR BODY?

What is fiber? Simply put, fiber is the part of your food that cannot break down or be digested by your digestive system. , or "roughage," is found abundantly in living plant foods such as vegetables, fruits, and grains. Fiber comes in two forms - soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber easily dissolves in water, so it can be easily absorbed in the intestine and circulated in the blood stream. Soluble fiber, such as pectin found in most fruits, in the blood can attach itself to blood fats and create a complex that removes these fats from the blood system, which in turn lowers cholesterol.

Insoluble fiber also absorbs water, but it remains in the intestine and forms the majority of the bulk necessary to collect and push bodily wastes through the intestine and out of the body. Food waste and bodily processes more very slowly, if at all, through the colon without the assistance of insoluble fiber. In this unhealthy case, the slow-moving mass can putrefy or rot right in the body causing the body to start poisoning itself. As you can see, insoluble fiber is critical to healthy functioning of the bowels and the whole elimination process.

THREE MAIN CAUSES OF CONSTIPATION

What's causing so much (and all of its related illnesses) in America and the Western world? There are three main causes that need to be addressed and resolved. The first and foremost cause is our unhealthy low-fiber diet. This consists of denatured, bleached, refined, processed foods and flours, as well as a lack of fresh vegetables and fruit. When our wheat flour is refined, they take out over 50 healthy nutrients, and then add 12 synthetic vitamins that are totally indigestible. Then they put it on the supermarket shelves and advertise it as "enriched" wheat flour or bread. The food manufacturers basically throw away the good nutrition and leave Americans with an unhealthy malnutrition processed "food." No wonder almost everyone in America is constipated! And don't forget, most Americans don't even come close to eating the recommended 5-13 servings of vegetables and fruit per day.

The second cause of constipation is not drinking enough water every day. Water is an essential element to the whole , , and process. Without enough water, food that is digested slows down or comes to a stop. Think of water being like the oil in your car's engine. Without oil, the moving parts would wear each other down and the engine would quickly "freeze" up and break down completely. Likewise, without enough water, your body will become dehydrated and will start to "freeze" up and break down. It won't be able to process food properly or eliminate the waste properly.

The third cause of constipation is a lack of . When your body does not get enough physical activity, food in your intestines and starts to slow down. For this reason alone, everyone should go for a 30-60 minute walk every day.

How do you know if you're "regular" enough? The basic guideline to use is this: everyone should have two or three bowel movements a day. This helps all waste matter move quickly through the and colon. This transit time should ideally be less than eighteen hours, and no more than twenty-four hours.

DO THESE 3 THINGS TO STAY "REGULAR"

1. Drink plenty of natural spring water every day. You should be drinking half your weight in ounces daily. In other words, if you're 160 pounds, you need to drink 80 ounces of water throughout the day.

2. Go for a daily walk to get the regular exercise your body needs.

3. Eat lots of dietary fiber every day and make significant changes to your create a healthy optimum diet. Your body needs at least 25-30 grams of fiber a day. It would also greatly help your system if you eliminated constipation-causing foods such as processed "enriched" wheat flour (white four) and other highly refined, denatured, bleached, processed flour.

GREAT SOURCES OF DIETARY FIBER FOR SUPER HEALTH

1. Fresh, organic vegetables, greens, fruits, and berries - These are all excellent sources of fiber. Aim at eating 75% of your vegetables and greens raw in the form of a healthy vegetable salad every day. Aim at eating 100% of your fruits & berries raw.

2. Beans and legumes. Learn how to soak and cook these yourself, and freeze portions for later use. These are probably the best source of fiber.

3. Brown rice. It has all the fiber and minerals that white rice lacks.

4. 100% whole wheat bread and flour, as well as 100% whole grain breads and flours such as rye, buckwheat, etc. Use these in all of your baking and cooking.

5. Whole grain cereals. These can be hot porridge-type cereals or cold cereal made from 100% whole grains.

6. Eat the skins of potatoes and of other organic fruits & vegetables.

7. Add oat bran, wheat bran, and wheatgerm to your meals.

8. Snack on sun-dried fruit - Enjoy apricots, dates, prunes, raisins, etc., which are all concentrated sources of fiber and nutrients.

9. Instead of drinking fruit juice and vegetable juice, eat the fruit and vegetables themselves so that you get all that healthy dietary fiber.

10. Eat flaxseed and chia seeds. These are a very healthy source of mucilaginous fiber that help relieve constipation and speed up the transit time for elimination.

Here's what Thomas Edison had to say about the future of health.

"The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease."

Power Smoothie Recipe - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy

Daily Quote: "Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God." - Rick Warren

Today is my 48th birthday, and I'm so grateful to God to be alive and healthy! I included the above quote because it relates to my birthday and my very existence, and to yours too.

Since it's my birthday, I'm going to keep today's blog about to and to very short. Hope you don't mind a little brevity from time to time.

MY DAILY SUPER NUTRITIOUS MORNING SMOOTHIE

I'd like to share the recipe I use to create my super nutritious morning every day. It's loaded with powerful nutrients that give my body a real boost of energy, and it's got things in it that assist my body in cleansing and eliminating the wastes from the day before. And best of all, it actually tastes great too! In fact, my 2-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter both demand their own servings.

Put all of the following into a blender:

- about 16 ounces of natural spring water

- half a cup of frozen organic strawberries and/or blueberries

- 2 scoops of "" (my favorite whole food supplement juice powder, which is loaded with over 70+ fruits, berries, greens, vegetables, seeds, nuts, spouts, enzymes, organic minerals, and resilient living probiotics). The Feast is made by .

- 1 scoop of juice powder (I use "Barley Pure" made by Uri)

- 1 scoop of "" (which is loaded with 15 antioxidant-rich berries & fruit, including Noni fruit, Mangosteen, Wolfberry-Goji, Acai berry, black currant, etc.)

- 1 teaspoon of saline solution

- 1/2 fresh lemon (aids in cleansing & elimination)

- 1 ripe banana

- 1 scoop "Food 'N Fiber" (whole food by Uri)

- 1 tablespoon ("Coconut Pure" by Uri)

- 1 good shake of Cayenne pepper (aids in cleansing & elimination)

Put all of these ingredients into a blender and let her rip. I would recommend blending everything except the banana first, and then at the very end, throw in the banana and blend it on low. This way the banana helps to thicken the smoothie.

It takes me about 4 or 5 minutes every morning to make this delicious smoothie, and my body is so happy to get such a powerful nutritious morning boost. Now I actually crave my morning smoothie and "The Feast" that's a part of it. It is so nutrient dense and loaded with whole food nutrition that it has become my daily breakfast and keeps me full until lunch. Enjoy!

Keys to Good Nutrition Include the Tip of Eating 5-13 Servings of Healthy Fruits & Vegetables A Day

An extremely important is eating lots of fruits, berries, greens, and vegetables every day. In fact, the government recommends that people eat 5-9 servings of fresh a day. Unfortunately, most Americans only eat about 3 servings a day, which is far below what their bodies need. Keep reading because I've got some valuable and creating for yourself a healthy lifestyle.

I would like to give you the link to that recently published findings on this topic. It is copyrighted 2007 and has a long list of references at the end of the article.

The Harvard School of Public Health article on fruits and vegetables

One of the conclusions they came to after much research was this:

"The latest dietary guidelines call for five to thirteen servings of fruits and vegetables a day, depending on one's caloric intake.(1) For a person who needs 2,000 calories a day to maintain weight and health, this translates into nine servings, or 4½ cups per day."

Let me ask you a simple question:

Have you had your 5-13 recommended servings of fruits and vegetables today? How about your kids?

There are tremendous health benefits to eating 5-13 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Read some of the paragraphs I have quoted below from the Harvard study to find out what these amazing health benefits are.

Now, I can just hear some of you moms out there saying to yourself that there's no way to get your kids to eat that many healthy fruits and vegetables every day. Right?

Wrong! There is a way.

It's easy, convenient, affordable, mostly organic, lifestyle-friendly, and actually tastes great.

It's called, "The FEAST." What is it?

is a live, whole food based InstaFresh juice that you simply mix with water and drink. It's like having the whole produce aisle in the supermarket in a glass to drink & be done with it.

What's in it? It's a live that's loaded with 30 fruits and berries and 30 powerful greens and vegetables. It's also got 11 seeds, nuts, and sprouts, living probiotics, and 83+ active enzymes and fulvic minerals. It's simply the easiest and best way to ensure that you and your kids are getting your daily recommended servings of fruits and vegetables. Of course, you still want to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables to get all the fiber your body needs, but this super juice is one simple way to fill in the gaps when you're not getting the full recommended 5-13 daily servings. Give it a try; you've got nothing to lose and your health to gain.

For your added benefit, I have included some paragraph excerpts below from the Harvard School of Public Health article dated 2007 and referenced above. Please take a few moments and read what they have discovered about the value and power of fruits & vegetables. I strongly encourage you to click the link above and read the article in its entirety.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Over the past 30 years or so, researchers have developed a solid base of science to back up what generations of mothers preached (but didn't always practice themselves). Early on, fruits and vegetables were acclaimed as cancer-fighting foods. In fact, the ubiquitous 5-A-Day message (now quietly changing to Eat 5 to 9 A Day) seen in produce aisles, magazine ads, and schools is supported in part by the National Cancer Institute. The latest research, though, suggests that the biggest payoff from eating fruits and vegetables is for the heart.

Fruits, Vegetables, and Cardiovascular Disease

There is compelling evidence that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.

The largest and longest study to date, done as part of the Harvard-based Nurses' Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-up Study, included almost 110,000 men and women whose health and dietary habits were followed for 14 years. The higher the average daily intake of fruits and vegetables, the lower the chances of developing cardiovascular disease. Compared with those in the lowest category of fruit and vegetable intake (less than 1.5 servings a day), those who averaged 8 or more servings a day were 30% less likely to have had a heart attack or stroke.(2)

Although all fruits and vegetables likely contribute to this benefit, green leafy vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, Swiss chard, and mustard greens; cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, bok choy, and kale; and citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit (and their juices) make important contributions.

Fruits, Vegetables, and Gastrointestinal Health

One of the wonderful components of fruits and vegetables is their indigestible fiber. As fiber passes through the digestive system, it sops up water like a sponge and expands. This can calm the irritable bowel and, by triggering regular bowel movements, can relieve or prevent constipation.(10) The bulking and softening action of insoluble fiber also decrease pressure inside the intestinal tract and so may help prevent diverticulosis (the development of tiny, easily irritated pouches inside the colon) and diverticulitis (the often painful inflammation of these pouches).(11)

Fruits, Vegetables, and Vision

Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables also keeps your eyes in good shape. You may have learned that the vitamin A in carrots aids night vision. Other fruits and vegetables help prevent two common aging-related eye diseases - cataract and macular degeneration - which afflict millions of Americans over age sixty-five. Cataract is the gradual clouding of the eye's lens, a disk of protein that focuses light on the light-sensitive retina. Macular degeneration is caused by cumulative damage to the macula, the center of the retina. It starts as a blurred spot in the center of what you see. As the degeneration spreads, vision shrinks.

Free radicals generated by sunlight, cigarette smoke, air pollution, infection, and metabolism cause much of this damage. Dark green leafy vegetables contain two pigments, lutein and zeaxanthin, that accumulate in the eye. These two appear to be able to snuff out free radicals before they can harm the eye's sensitive tissues.(12)

In general, a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains appears to reduce the chances of developing cataract or macular degeneration. (13-15)

The Bottom Line: Recommendations for Fruit and Vegetable Intake

Fruits and vegetables are clearly an important part of a good diet. Almost everyone can benefit from eating more of them, but variety is as important as quantity. No single fruit or vegetable provides all of the nutrients you need to be healthy. The key lies in the variety of different fruits and vegetables that you eat.

Some basic fruit and vegetable tips:

* Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. If you need 2,000 calories a day to maintain your weight and health, aim for at least nine servings (4½ cups) a day.
* Choose a variety of different fruits and vegetables. It's easy to get into a rut when it comes to the food you eat. Break out and try a wider variety - include dark-green, leafy vegetables; yellow, orange, and red fruits and vegetables; cooked tomatoes; and citrus fruits." - Harvard School of Public Health, 2007
