BARLEY PURE Pure Barley Juice Powder Drink Mix by URI International
I enjoy the benefits of drinking BARLEY PURE every morning with my family. I simply add a teaspoon or two to my favorite smoothie recipe, which includes "The FEAST," a banana, some organic frozen berries, some COCONUT PURE (organic extra virgin coconut oil), some freshly ground flax seeds, and a few other things I'll share with you in the future.
I should warn you that most people can't handle the taste of drinking barley grass just with water. This is the reason that I suggest that you add it in to your favorite smoothie recipe like I do. By itself, it tastes like you're licking a lawnmower. However, added to a tasty smoothie, you hardly notice it.

3 Secrets to Optimal Health & Longevity - Keys to Good Nutrition & to Eating Healthy
"Gentlemen, I will never die of cancer! I am taking measures to prevent it. It is caused by poisons created in our bodies by the food we eat. What we should do then, if we would avoid cancer, is to eat raw fruits and vegetables. First, that we may be better nourished; secondly, that we may more easily eliminate waste products. We have been studying germs when we should have been studying diet and drainage [elimination & detoxification]. The world has been on the wrong track. The answer has been within ourselves all the time; drain the body of its poisons, feed it properly, and the miracle is done. Nobody need have cancer who will take the trouble to avoid it.”
- Sir William A. Lane, England’s foremost abdominal surgeon (addressing the staff of John Hopkins Hospital & Medical College)
The above quote speaks volumes of wisdom to us...if we will have ears to hear it.
A few days ago I was in a bookstore when I found the above incredible quote in a book by George Malkmus entitled, “Why Christians Get Sick.” When I read it, I was stunned! I couldn’t believe that someone so prestigious as Sir William Lane could articulate such a wise, simple, and natural solution to the “C-” problem. I cannot use the “C-” word in my blog because of FDA & FTC prohibitions, but the dictionary describes “C-” as - “a malignant tumor that tends to spread in the body.”
I would like to share with you 3 secrets to optimal health and longevity, which are in fact, several more keys to good nutrition and to eating healthy. These health secrets are all outlined in Sir William Lane’s quote above. I encourage you to take them to heart and apply them to your life, your diet, and your lifestyle.
The first thing you should do is to make a life decision that you are going to die healthy, and that you are not going to die of “C-”. Follow Sir Lane’s example and start taking daily measures to prevent it. Realize that you do not need to die of “C-” if you are willing to take the trouble to avoid it. So, before we get started, let me ask you: “Are you willing to take the trouble to avoid getting ‘C-’?” If you are, then the information to follow can help you live a long healthy life. If you are not willing, then this information will not help you and you may very well end up dying of “C-” because you were unwilling to take the necessary measures to prevent it.
Now, let’s address this question: “What causes ‘C-’ to develop in our bodies?”
As Sir Lane so clearly and succinctly stated, “C-” is caused by “poisons created in our bodies by the food we eat.” This statement is true and has been scientifically proven over and over again by researchers, nutritionists, and medical doctors. There is a ton of research and evidence available that supports this truth, but it is beyond the scope of this blog article to include it. If you are interested in reading such evidence, I encourage you to do your own research. Now, let’s get back to the cause of “C-” which is certain foods that we eat that create poisons in our bodies. As we continue to eat these unhealthy foods, toxins build up in our bodies that lead to malignant tumors that quickly start to spread throughout the body. The remedy to “C-” therefore must include eating the right kinds of foods, avoiding the foods that poison our bodies, and then learning how to eliminate wastes and detoxify our bodies for optimal health.
Longevity Secret # 1 - EAT RAW ORGANIC VEGETABLES and FRUIT
Think of this as a prescription from your Maker. God created the whole world and He created the human body. He knows what foods are best for you to achieve optimal health and longevity. According to the Maker’s Manual, we were designed to primarily eat vegetables and fruit, as well as grains, legumes, seeds, and nuts. Therefore, make raw organic vegetables and fruit a major part of your daily diet. They are loaded with natural vitamins, minerals, live enzymes, antioxidants, phytonutrients, and thousands of other nutritive compounds that impart life and energy to your body, as well as substances that fight illnesses, including “C-”. Make sure to eat all of your fruit RAW and approximately 75% of your vegetables RAW. Instead of wasting your money on expensive toxic drugs, think of your food from now on as your medicine. As Hippocrates so wisely stated, “Let your food be your medicine, and let your medicine be your food."
Longevity Secret # 2 - STOP EATING PROCESSED MAN-MADE FOOD POISONS
You must do something significant to stop putting poisons in your body from the food you’re used to eating. Take a few minutes and go back into some of my earlier blog postings to learn all about what “foods” to avoid in your diet. The September 2, 2007, posting is a summary of things you should never eat because they are toxic or poisonous to your body. For more details, also read Aug. 28, 29, 30, 31, and Sept. 1 postings. If you are serious about preventing “C-” from developing in your body and killing you, you absolutely must stop putting “C-causing” toxic foods into your body. Period. There is a fundamental spiritual principle in the Bible that says, “What you sow, you will reap.” If you “sow” toxic poisonous foods into your body, you will eventually “reap” malignant tumors and “C-” will start spreading through your body to kill it.
Longevity Secret # 3 - ELIMINATE WASTE PRODUCTS and DETOXIFY YOUR BODY
Sir William Lane emphasized the importance of eliminating the waste products from the body, as well as the importance of detoxifying the body. He used the word, “drainage,” to mean elimination and detoxification. In order to have proper elimination, our bodies need plenty of natural fiber from eating raw vegetables and fruits. Secondly, in order to detoxify our bodies, we need to learn which raw natural foods help with this process. We also need to learn to start doing a weekly juice fast, which is one of the best ways to help your body detoxify itself. For example, every Monday I fast and only drink natural spring water and fresh raw juices. This 24-hour period gives my body the break it needs from digestion in order to focus purely on elimination and detoxification. In this way, I’m working with my body to purge all of the toxins out of my system.

Pomegranates Are a Key to Healthy Eating and to Good Nutrition
I grew up in the countries of Afghanistan and Iran where my father was an English teacher. I have fond memories of eating pomegranates in the summer and drinking the delicious invigorating juice during long mountain hikes. In Persian, they are called "anar." I've always loved the taste of pomegranates and their red ruby color. The little seed casings, called "arils," look like beautiful red jewels to me.
Pomegranates can be quite messy to eat, but I learned that the best way to eat them is to first cut them in quarters with a knife, and then pick out the seeds and eat them. Be careful because the seed casings can squirt red juice on your clothes and stain them easily. I also make juice out of them by rolling the pomegranate on the counter top roughly, until I have crushed the seed casings into juice. Then I carefully cut a hole in the side and squeeze out the juice. The seed casings also make a great garnish on top of soups and salads.
Pomegranates have been prized since antiquity for their legendary health-imparting nutritional properties and their delicious tangy flavor. Eating pomegranates and drinking fresh unprocessed natural pomegranate juice are a key to good nutrition and healthy eating.
This amazing healthy fruit first appeared in Greek mythology as having been planted on the island of Cyprus by Aphrodite, the goddess of love. According to legend, pomegranates are associated with long life, abundance and procreation.
They were grown in the ancient capital city of Samarkand, a major crossroads on the Silk Road, and spread along trading routes from ancient Persia to the Indian subcontinent. It was highly valued by desert caravans for its thirst-quenching, cooling, and nourishing juice. In Spanish, the pomegranate is referred to as "Granada" and appears on the coat of arms of the city of Granada.
Pomegranates have many powerful nutritional benefits for the human body. Here is a list of a few of them; however, for more details, see the link below. First, pomegranates are potent providers of protective antioxidants known as polyphenols. Second, they are loaded with nutrients like Vitamin C and are good sources essential minerals such as iron and potassium. Third, pomegranates have been shown to have protective properties against many of today's major illnesses. If you're interested in which illnesses, you'll have to do your own research on the internet to find the specific ones because they cannot be mentioned in this posting for compliance reasons.
For more information on the culinary use, history of, and nutritional properties of pomegranates, please view this Wikipedia link:

Daily Walking Is a Key to Healthy Eating and to Good Nutrition

"Walking is, by far, the best form of exercise." - Dr. Paavo Airola
I strongly encourage you to make walking a daily exercise habit in your life. Walking is simply the best form of exercise known to man. It's also free and can be done almost anywhere. You can use your walking time to also keep mentally fit by reflecting on life, by meditating, and by praying. If at all possible, get out of the city and go for a long walk in the woods or on a mountain trail or on the beach. You need to find a place that has clean air to breathe and beautiful views of nature whenever possible to enhance the experience.
Let me also caution you not to walk or jog in smog or on trafficked streets. If you live in the city, sometimes it's difficult to find places where the air is pure. Look for large parks with lots of green grass and trees where you can walk. Walking on busy streets downtown where there is bumper-to-bumper traffic is unwise and dangerous to your health because there is a ton of lead and carbon monoxide in the air that flows into your lungs and body. If you live in a smoggy city and your only choice is to walk on the smoggy streets, then it's better not to walk at all. Possibly consider getting a treadmill and walking in your house. The best solution is to move to a place where the air is pure and you won't be killing yourself with polluted air.
While you're walking, you can adjust the speed of your walk to your level of energy and comfort. However, if you're able to make it a power walk, it is best to keep up a brisk walk in order to give your body the exercise it needs. If you have the time, stop in the middle of your walk and do some stretching exercises. Stretch, bend, and rotate your body and limbs to increase your flexibility. Also, remember to do deep breathing exercises as you walk. Learn to breathe in deeply from your abdomen instead of from your chest. This will increase the amount of oxygen that your body gets and will feed your body the oxygen it needs to function better.
After you finish your walk, go home and take a shower to wash away the perspiration. If you're really gutsy, take an intermittent cold and hot shower. Try 10 seconds of freezing cold, followed by 30 seconds of hot, and do this repeatedly. Nothing will feel so stimulating to your body as this kind of hot-cold shock treatment.
When you finish your shower, dry yourself with a coarse towel and then give yourself a 7-minute dry brush massage. You will want to use a special natural-bristle brush with a long handle that you can find in a health food store. Brush every part of your body, beginning with your feet and working up towards your heart. Use circular motions and be fairly rough on your skin. As you may know, your skin is your largest eliminative organ of your body. When you use a dry brush massage, you are helping your body eliminate toxins and brushing away dead skin cells, as well as stimulating the blood flow to your entire body.
The key to the door of creating a healthy lifestyle is of course eating healthy whole foods and getting the good nutrition that your body needs. However, it is extremely important to add exercise to your nutrition, as well as other healthy habits such as dry brush massaging. Think of your dry brush massage as your own personal Million Dollar Health and Beauty Treatment!

Eating Millet Is a Key to Good Nutrition and a Tip to Eating Healthy
"Healthy organic foods have abundance of potential life energy to give you!" - Paul Bragg
Grains, legumes, beans, seeds, and nuts make up the most important and potent health-building food group of all. If you're concerned about eating healthy, the good nutrition of these foods is unsurpassed because they contain the secret of life itself - the germ! The germ is the reproductive power and spark of life in all seeds, and it is essential to life, health, and reproductive ability. This key food group contains all of the essential nutrients for human growth and maintenance of health. Even though all grains and seeds are beneficial, it is best to predominantly eat those that your ancestors ate and those that are grown locally.
Contrary to what you may have heard, buckwheat, almonds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and peanuts all contain complete proteins, which are comparable in biological quality value to animal proteins. This food group is also the best natural source of essential unsaturated fatty acids, which are necessary to maintain health. The vitamin content (especially vitamin E and the B-complex vitamins) of this food group is unsurpassed. Grains, nuts, and seeds are also a treasure chest of minerals and trace elements. Minerals also help balance the body chemistry, especially regarding alkalinity and acidity. This group also contains pacifarins, which increase the body's natural resistance to physical ailments. And finally, whole grains, legumes, beans, and seeds provide the body with necessary fiber and roughage content. This is critical to avoiding all kinds of colon and intestinal tract problems that currently plague our nation as a result of refined and processed foods.
The best grains to eat are buckwheat, oats, millet, and brown rice. Most other grains are beneficial, but be careful with wheat because it is one of the most common allergens today. These grains can be eaten daily in the form of cereal, porridge, breads, pancakes, soups, etc. or sprouted. Cooking grains or sprouting them actually helps release the vital minerals by breaking down the mineral-phytin bond so that minerals can be assimilated in the intestinal tract.
Today I'd like to focus on millet and how to cook MILLET CEREAL. This is a very healthy and nutritious food that can be eaten with any meal, and it is a wonderful complete food. It can rightfully be called "The king of all cereals," and shares this distinction with buckwheat. Millet is easily digested and never causes gas or fermentation in the stomach as other starchy cereals often do. The famous nutritionist, Dr. Harvey Kellogg, once stated that millet is the only cereal that can sustain or support human life when used as the sole item in the diet. In addition to having complete proteins, millet is also rich in vitamins, minerals, and important trace elements such as lecithin and molybdenum.
RECIPE FOR MAKING MILLET CEREAL
1 cup hulled millet
3 cups of water
1/2 cup powdered skim milk (optional)
Cooking Method 1 - Place all ingredients in a pan with a tight cover. Use ovenproof utensils: glass, earthenware, or stainless steel, if possible. Place in the oven turned to 175 to 200 degrees F and leave for 3-4 hours. The cereal can be left in the oven longer if necessary, but it should be ready to eat after about 3-4 hours. To speed the process, the cereal can be heated to the boiling point before putting into the oven. This cooking method is superior because of the low temperature, which makes the nutrients - especially the proteins - of millet (and other grains) more easily assimilable.
Cooking Method 2 - Rinse millet in warm water and drain. Heat mixture of water, optional powdered skim milk, and millet to boiling. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and burning. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand for a half an hour or more.
Cooking Method 3 - First bring the millet, water, and optional powdered skim milk to a boil on the stove. Then pour the whole mixture into a crockpot and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
This recipe makes four servings. You can serve your millet cereal with milk, honey, oil, or butter, and treat yourself to the most nutritious cereal in the world!
Recipe from "The Airola Diet & Cookbook," by Dr. Paavo Airola.

We Need Dirt In Our Diet - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"The best way to quickly replenish and stabilize friendly bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and develop a balanced immune system that reacts only as needed is the regular ingestion of live, fermented, probiotic-rich food and supplementation with homeostatic soil organisms. Homeostatic soil organisms (HSOs), in addition to a diet that includes liberal amounts of cultured or fermented foods including yogurt, kefir, and sauerkraut, will create the proper balance your gut needs to be healthy." - Dr. Jordan Rubin
WE NEED DIRT
I would like to share with you another key to good nutrition and to eating healthy: dirt! Believe it or not, we all need some dirt in our diet. In 1989, Dr. David Strachan, an epidemiologist at Britain's London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, started a storm of debate with a complex theory of human immunology development and disease control by stating, "We need dirt." Dr. Strachan suggested that society's growing separation from dirt and germs may be the cause of weaker immune systems resulting in the growing incidence of a wide range of illnesses. A growing number of scientists and medical researchers agree with Dr. Strachan's theory that the microbes in the earth's soil may be some of our best friends.
America's soil used to be some of the richest in the world, but after World War II these natural soil organisms were displaced as a result of chemical farming and pesticide usage by commercial agribusiness. Today, America's soil is essentially sterile because pesticides and herbicides kill virtually every microorganism they touch, both bad and good. This is similar to the overuse of medical antibiotics that has reduced the human gut to a barren landscape because antibiotics kill the good bacteria along with the bad. For most of us, our overly sterile environment has practically severed our healthy relationship to the soil and has seriously weakened our immune system.
OUR BODIES NEED HOMEOSTATIC SOIL ORGANISMS (HSOs)
According to Dr. Jordan Rubin, "Regular ingestion of HSOs produce a significant reservoir of extra antibodies ready for targeted response, greatly increasing the effectiveness of an individual's immune system." This reservoir depends on regular ingestion of HSOs, and appears to diminish when HSO ingestion stops. In an important and healthy way, homeostatic soil organisms help to restore the lost link between the body and the earth.
BACTERIAL IMBALANCE IN THE GUT
Dysbiosis is the condition of bacterial imbalance in the gut, which results in abnormal fermentation in the small intestine. The growth of yeast, fungi, and fermenting pathogenic bacteria in the small intestine may damage the gut lining, cause toxic by-products to be absorbed, and impair the absorption of important nutrients. Eating junk food and other "comfort food" only feeds this vicious cycle. The best way to improve the microbial balance in the gut is by consuming nutrient-rich live whole foods and by taking supplemental HSOs.
One of the most challenging health problems that face doctors today is the prevention and treatment of dysbiosis and dysbacteriosis. According to Dr. Rubin, "When dysbiosis sets in, creating imbalance between the protective or 'friendly' bacteria and the 'unfriendly' bacteria, even normally harmless organisms encountered may produce illness." Studies implicate intestinal bacterial imbalances as an underlying root cause for conditions ranging from recurrent infections and immune breakdown to chronic fatigue. Dr. Rubin states that according to one study, dysbiosis may leave us predisposed to ailments such as diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, colon cancer, allergies, vaginitis, hypoglycemia, food cravings, lack of mental clarity, increased susceptibility to infection, and many other health conditions.
PROPER BACTERIAL BALANCE IN THE GUT
Your health depends on your body having a healthy balanced intestinal flora in your gut of approximately 85% "good" bacteria and 15% "bad" microorganisms. This is the proper proportion of good versus bad bacteria in a healthy gastrointestinal system. Unfortunately, most Americans have the exact opposite ratio of 85% "bad" and only 15% "good" bacteria in their gut.
STEPS TO RESTORING & MAINTAINING A HEALTHY GUT
Step 1 - Reconnect with the earth's soil. You can do this by doing some gardening, playing in the dirt with your kids, taking a hike in the mountains, going camping, etc. A growing number of nutritionists, medical doctors, and scientists believe this is the most effective way to enhance the healing response of the body.
Step 2 - Begin homeostatic soil organism (HSO) supplementation. Combining a live, whole food based diet with HSO supplementation can help improve bodily functions and build a stronger immunity system that is prepared to fight against infection and illnesses.
Soil based organisms produce bacteriocins, a substance which acts as a natural antibiotic that kills almost any kind of pathogenic microorganisms and sets up a protective shield in the gut. HSOs also seem to provide an offense against worms, protozoa, candida albicans, and other parasites in the intestines and related tissues and organs.
HSOs are also able to establish "good" colonies in the entire digestive system, where they attach themselves to the walls of the digestive tract and dig behind the putrefaction lining the intestine walls where they destroy "bad" bacteria. Also, unlike many traditional probiotics, HSOs seem to be much hardier and are better able to survive the harsh environment of the gut until they reach the place where they are most needed in the intestine.
According to an article in the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients (Feb/Mar 2001), entitled, "Medical Innovative Biologics: Homeostatic Soil Organisms Support Immune System Functions From the Ground Up," scientists attribute the following health benefits to the consumption of homeostatic soil organisms (HSOs):
A. HSOs quench free radicals by creating superoxide dismutase (SOD). Superoxide dismutase is a powerful antioxidant that is produced by HSOs. SOD works enzymatically as a first-line of defense against free radicals, stopping them before they can cause serious organ damage.
B. HSOs pool new RNA and DNA in the cells. HSOs provide a rich source of coded instructions for the cells to reactivate their own repair called DNA and RNA. HSOs seem to work in a mutually beneficial relationship with body tissues by creating a pool of extra DNA and RNA raw materials, which is available to help accelerate the healing process.
C. HSOs stimulate the production of polypeptide alpha interferon, a molecular protein and a key immune system regulator.
D. HSOs help stimulate the formation of human lactoferrin, one of the body's iron-carrying proteins.
CONCLUSION ABOUT HOMEOSTATIC SOIL ORGANISMS (HSOs)
We all need more dirt in our diet. We all need to be more closely connected to the soil of the earth because the soil has homeostatic soil organisms that our bodies need to help build a strong immune system. Remember, there are two important steps to a healthy gut. First, spend more time connecting to the soil through various outdoor activities. Second, start reaping the benefits of HSO supplementation and a live, whole food based diet.

Eating Natural Food Is God's Way to Health - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"The more natural food you eat, the more you'll enjoy radiant health and longevity and be able to promote the higher life of love and brotherhood." - Patricia Bragg "There is but one way to live and that is mother nature's way and God's healthy way!" - Paul Bragg
Today is the 50th day of posting on my nutrition blog! I'm so thankful to have made it this far, and now I know that I can go much farther because the topic that I'm writing on is truly a passion of mine that stirs my soul and causes me to want to share with everyone the importance of eating healthy and good nutrition. To me, these are two of the most important keys to living a long and healthy life.
Take a moment and reread the quotes above because they contain gemstones of wisdom.
WIDSOM KEY # 1 - Eat as much natural food as possible.
By "natural," I mean live raw whole food that is in its natural state, unheated, uncooked, unfiltered, unprocessed, unhomogenized, unpasteurized, unradiated, unpackaged. If you were to do only this one thing, it would completely turn your health around and you would experience a much more vibrant life without a host of physical problems bothering you every day.
WISDOM KEY # 2 - Live mother nature's way and God's healthy way.
God is the one who created the earth and everything on it, including our bodies. He designed our bodies to function efficiently and for us to live with optimum health and vitality. The plants that He created for us to eat were designed to provide all of the nutrition that our bodies would ever need. The most powerful life-giving foods on the earth are vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, seeds, nuts, and sprouts. Learn to live mother nature's way by eating these health-promoting foods. Learn to live God's healthy way by eating the best foods that He created for our bodies to live on. Of course, this means that we should also avoid eating "man-made" food products because they are not according to mother nature's way or God's healthy way.

No-No's for Moms-To-Be: Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"A mother has the great responsibility of determining and influencing the direction her children will take in their lives. That influence continues throughout infancy and childhood, but begins even before birth." - Dr. Paavo Airola
I want to share with you some big "NO-NO's" that apply to all women who are pregnant and to mothers who are breast-feeding their babies. These keys to good nutrition and tips to eating healthy will help protect the unborn child and the nursing baby.
SMOKING - Pregnant women and lactating women should not smoke themselves, and they should not be in areas where other people are smoking. As a giver and custodian of life, woman has a special responsibility to herself and to her children, which includes guarding her own health as well as the health of her family. Smoking is clearly incompatible with that goal.
ALCOHOL - All alcoholic beverages should be avoided by pregnant and lactating women. Even a small amount of alcohol can enter the fetus and affect the health of the baby.
DRUGS - All drugs, even simple aspirin, should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation because of potential harm to the fetus as well as to the mother. For example, if taken during the third trimester, aspirin can cause jaundice, premature labor, and bleeding in the unborn. Drugs taken during the first trimester can be especially dangerous to the developing unborn child. Drugs have many powerful and destructive side-effects, so a pregnant and lactating mother should avoid taking drugs during this time.
X-RAYS - Pregnant women should avoid all x-rays during pregnancy, including all dental and chiropractic x-rays. X-rays can contribute to all kinds of physical health problems both in the mother and in the unborn child.
EXCESSIVE USE OF SALT - Table salt, also known as sodium chloride, is toxic in large doses, and should be avoided because it can cause, among other things, edema (swelling). The best kind of salt to use in your diet is Himalayan Crystal Salt because it has over 70 minerals and other nutrients that the body needs.
HARMFUL SPICES - Mustard, white pepper, black pepper, and processed white vinegar are without any nutritional value, and they act as strong irritants to the digestive and assimilative tract.
SUGAR - All refined sugar, as well as all imitation sweeteners, such as NutraSweet, Aspartame, Splenda, Equal, etc., should be avoided and eliminated from the diet of pregnant women and lactating women. Excessive sugar destroys B-vitamins in the body, over-taxes the pancreas, leeches minerals from the body, raises cholesterol, and contributes to all kinds of health problems. The best sweeteners to use are raw organic unheated unfiltered honey, stevia, and agave nectar.
COFFEE, TEA, CHOCOLATE, AND SOFT DRINKS - All the stimulants in these drinks and chocolate, which contain large doses of caffeine, can reach the fetus through the placenta and cause health damage even before the baby is born.
WHITE FLOUR PRODUCTS - This group includes everything made with white flour such as white bread, "enriched" wheat bread, pastries, donuts, bagels, pies, cakes, cookies, packaged cereal, etc. These over processed, highly sugared, nutrition-less man-made foods have no place in the diet of a responsible mother-to-be or nursing mother.
In conclusion, the above mentioned things should be avoided at all costs by nursing mothers and mothers-to-be because they can have a negative effect on the woman's health and the health of the unborn baby or lactating baby. In order to finish on a more positive note, I would strongly recommend that pregnant mothers take a daily morning walk. The very best exercise during pregnancy is simple walking. Eat to Live - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"Eat to live; don't live to eat."
One of the keys to good nutrition and tips to eating healthyis to eat for the right reasons. Have you ever thought of that? Have you ever asked yourself why you eat every day? It seems, on the surface, like a simple question with an obvious answer. However, when you understand the deeper ramifications of this question, you will realize that it is really quite a profound question.
"WHY DO YOU EAT?"
Some people eat as though they were going to go out and do the hardest kind of physical labor! They sit down at the table, for example, and eat a large heavy breakfast loaded with protein, carbohydrates, fats, and sugars. And yet the truth is that they are very sedentary people who eat out of habit and conditioning. These same people often work in an office or in a store where they sit or stand around all day doing very little physical labor at all. They will usually eat a quite unhealthy snack in the morning. Around noon they will eat a heavy meal, followed a little later by an afternoon snack. After work, they come home and have the biggest meal of the day consisting of meat, potatoes, bread, dessert, and a beverage. Typically they watch TV after dinner while eating yet another fattening snack.
The person living the average, inactive and sedentary life can't possibly burn up these large amounts of food! What happens to people who eat this way? They end up being overweight or obese, they feel tired or exhausted most of the time, and they live their entire lives being sick or half-sick. They fill the doctors' offices, pharmacies, and hospitals with all the health problems brought on by their unhealthy eating habits.
This kind of daily compulsive over-eating is making millions of people exhausted, fat, and sick. This habitual over-eating is sending them to doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, and too many to an early grave! As the Roman philosopher, Seneca, once said, "Men do not die; they kill themselves." This tragic story is being played out all across the Western world. Millions of people are grossly overweight and sick due to unhealthy lifestyles and poor eating habits.
Not only do millions of people overeat or overfuel their bodies, but they also overfuel on the wrong kinds of food. The food that they consume is generally not nutritious and is loaded with toxins and other substances that make their bodies fatter and sicker and more tired. Because their bodies are truly malnourished from bad nutrition, they constantly feel hungry because their bodies are not getting the nutrients that they need. In addition, overeating puts a severe strain on the body's organs and the digestive tract to try to keep up with all of that food. By overeating they are stressing out the machinery of their entire body because they never give their body time to rest and repair itself. What they really need to do is to get into the habit of fasting one day a week to help their system unclog and cleanse itself.
EAT TO LIVE; DON'T LIVE TO EAT
Now, getting back to our original question: "Why do you eat?" Many people eat three large meals a day because they were told at a young age that they should. They have been conditioned to eating not only three large daily meals, but also to eating snacks throughout the day. I believe that most people eat this way out of habit and conditioning, and for the wrong reasons. A lot of times people eat because it meets some deep emotional need in their souls such as comfort, which is why we call some foods, "comfort foods." Some people overeat because they are lonely and eating food makes them feel better. Some people overeat simply because they are bored. Other people overeat because they are simply gluttens, meaning they have an unhealthy kind of "lust" for food that gives them a lot of pleasure and a physical high. All of these reasons are not good or healthy reasons to eat or to overeat.
EAT FOR NUTRITION AND ENERGY AND LIFE
I would like to suggest that the best reasons to eat (not overeat) are to feed your body the good nutrition it needs, to provide your body the energy it needs to work and live, and to give your body the life that it needs to be happy and productive. In other words, "eat to live!" Think of food as fuel for your body. You can put in good high-quality fuel that will energize your body and help you accomplish what you need to every day, or you can put in bad poor-quality fuel that will cause your body to feel tired, weak, and sickly and will prevent you from accomplishing what you need to do.
Finally, there is a time and a place to enjoy the pleasure of eating good food. God created us to enjoy great variety of foods that He put on the earth. Enjoying good healthy food is a blessing from God that we should be thankful for. However, we do need to protect our hearts from gluttony and overeating by practicing moderation in our eating habits. My advice to you is to reflect a while on why you eat, and then make some healthy changes. Start thinking differently about food and eating. Discipline your body and make it your servant, rather than your body being the master and you being the slave to its appetite. Take control of your appetite and eating habits, and learn the healthy habit of eating to live. To your health, the Naked Nutrition Knight

Healthy Kitchen Cookware Part 4 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"Not all the poisons we drink are found under the sink." - Ted Broer
I would like to conclude this four part series about creating a healthy kitchen with things that you should not have or use in your kitchen. Avoiding using these unhealthy kitchen items is one more of the keys to good nutrition and to eating healthy.
THINGS YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE & NOT USE IN YOUR HEALTHY KITCHEN
1. Do not have or use a microwave oven in your kitchen. Using a microwave oven to heat your food actually damages the molecular structure of your food and changes it to a very unhealthy form. If man could live without microwave ovens for 5,970 years, I'm sure you can find a much better and more healthy way to heat your food. Ever heard of a stove top and an oven. Sure, it takes longer to heat things up, but are you really willing to sacrifice your physical health for anything, especially for convenience?
2. Do not use a pressure cooker. This kind of pot uses dangerously high temperatures to cook your food quickly. This is simply not good for the food. Remember this simple rule: the lower the temperature, the more nutritious your food will be; the higher the temperature, the more unhealthy and damaged your food will be.
3. Do not use aluminum utensils and aluminum foil. Both of these release small amounts of aluminum into your food which is extremely toxic and damaging to your health.
4. Do not use plastic-coated, non-stick pans, which can release very toxic fumes when overheated, and which can release toxic plastic material into your food that is very harmful to your body.
5. Do not use plastic containers, plastic bags, or plastic wrap for storing any food items that contain fats and oils because they dissolve upon contact with oily and fatty foods, thus releasing toxic plastic material into your food and into your body. Learn to store things like cheese, butter, and fatty foods in non-plastic containers like glass or ceramic. Also, plastic bottles should never be used to store milk, oils, or similar oil-rich foods and drinks because the fat in the milk and the oils may cause a small amount of the plastic to be released into the milk or oil, and then it ends up being a toxic residue in your food and body.
I have given you only short explanations and reasons why to avoid having and using these common kitchen items. There are plenty of studies out there that can give you the detailed reasons why you should avoid these items, so if you're truly interested, do your own research. Nonetheless, it's time for those of us who are truly health conscious and who truly want to improve and protect our health, to start creating a healthy kitchen. Healthy Kitchen Cookware Part 3 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

Today I'd like to share the final part of this three part series on healthy kitchen cookware. Using these kitchen items is one more of the keys to good nutrition and to eating healthy.
JUICER - Find yourself a good-quality juicer that you can use to make fresh juice from organic vegetables and fruits. This is an excellent way to do an occasional reducing or cleansing juice fast. Also, if you have any kind of health disorder, vegetable juices and fruit juices can become an important part of your natural healing therapy. For every day use, be careful not to drink too much freshly made fruit or vegetable juices as they tend to be high in natural sugar content, which can effect your blood sugar and insulin. There are three major kinds of juicers on the market today: centrifugal, hydraulic press, and triturator. Hydraulic juices are superior, but they are quite expensive. Other types of juices are more resonably priced, so try to find one that is made from stainless steel because it will be more durable. Also, make sure that at least all the parts that can come into contact with the juice are made from stainless steel, not plastic.
SILVERWARE - Make sure to have some good quality stainless steel knives, forks, and spoons. Do not use the kind that have plastic handles because microscopic toxic plastic material can end up in your food and stomach.
CUTTING KNIVES - Get yourself a good quality collection of stainless steel kitchen knives of different sizes with wooden handles rather than plastic.
GRAIN MILL - If you're really serious about maintaining an optimum healthy diet, you'll want to be sure to make your own bread. In that case, you'll want to invest in an electric stone mill. These are not cheap, but they will help you grind your own grain just before baking your own bread. If you can't afford one of these, you can buy a hand-operated mill which is inexpensive and simple to use. These are simply clamped onto a table or countertop.
DOUGH KNEADER - If you intend to bake your own bread regularly, you may want to also invest in an electric dough kneader. It will make bread-making much easier and also will help to produce better-quality bread with less effort. If you already have a large mixer appliance, you might already have a dough kneader that came with it or you may be able to order one as an extra attachment.
I hope these five kitchen cookware items become a regular part of your kitchen and your cooking. These gadgets will help you prepare healthier food for you and your family. To your health, the Naked Nutrition Knight

Healthy Kitchen Cookware Part 2 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"Your health is your wealth." - Paul C. Bragg
Yesterday I shared with you about three important things you should have in your kitchen that are some of the keys to good nutrition and tips to eating healthy. Today I'd like to share about five other valuable things you need to have in your kitchen.
SEED GRINDER - Find yourself an inexpensive, compact, easy to clean, and easy to use little electric seed grinder for grinding up all of your own fresh nuts, seeds, and grains into a fine or coarse powder or flour in just a few seconds. A seed grinder is an essential kitchen gadget to assure the highest quality optimum nutrition from whole seeds, nuts, and grains. You never want to buy seeds, nuts, and grains in milled, crushed, or powdered form because they go rancid so quickly.
NATURAL UNTREATED WOODEN CUTTING BOARDS - Only use cutting boards that are made from natural and untreated hardwood. And clean them by wiping first with a wet cloth and then with a dry cloth. Never immerse them in water or put them in a dishwasher, which can warp and ruin them.
GRATERS - Get yourself a stainless steel grater that is extremely useful for slicing and grating fruits, vegetables, cheeses, etc. You can buy various shapes and sizes. One of the most versatile is a four-sided grater with each side being useful for different purposes.
ELECTRIC GLASS BLENDER - This is an essential appliance for making shakes and smoothies for you and your family. Make sure that you buy one that is durable and that has a blender container made of glass instead of plastic. These come in all makes and models, so be sure to pick yourself out one that is made of quality parts and will last you for a long time.
BABY-FOOD GRINDER - You can make the most nutritious and delicious baby foods in seconds if you have a simple, hand-operated, inexpensive, and durable baby-food grinder. It will transform vegetables, fruit, cereals, and other whole foods into finely-mashed baby food that is far more nutritionally-superior than canned baby foods and cheaper too. You can also use it to make dips, sauces, dressings, and other condiments.
I encourage you to have each of these things in your kitchen so that you can more easily cook healthy foods for your family. Tomorrow I will share about a few more essential healthy kitchen cookware that you don't want to live without. To your health, the Naked Nutrition Knight

Healthy Kitchen Cookware Part 1 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"Of all the knowledge, the one most worth having is knowledge about health! The first requisite of a good life is to be a healthy person." - Herbert Spencer
It's time for you to take inventory of what utensils, appliances, and gadgets you have in your kitchen, and make sure that they are all good for your health. Having healthy cookware in your kitchen is just one more of the keys to good nutrition and to eating healthy. Your health and the health of your family depends on the quality of your cookware.
POTS AND PANS - If you're truly concerned about your health, then you should only use stainless steel, cast iron, stoneware, and glass cookware. Of course, these are more expensive than less healthy cookware, but think of it as a one-time investment in your health. These high-quality pots and pans are made to be extremely durable and can last a lifetime if you take care of them.
Avoid all aluminum cookware and aluminum utensils which can both leave toxic aluminum residues in your foods. Also, avoid all non-stick pot and pans which are dangerous to your health. These kinds of pots and pans can leave toxic plastic particles in your food, and they can release harmful gasses when they are overheated.
WOODEN SPOONS - Your kitchen should have natural wooden spoons for all mixing and stirring during your cooking. These spoons come in all shapes and sizes, are quite durable, and are not expensive. Avoid using varnished, stained, or painted wooden utensils as these are not healthy for you.
STEAMER - Make sure your kitchen is equipped with a stainless steel steamer that is inexpensive to buy and will last for years. Use your steamer to steam the vegetables that you don't want to eat raw. Steaming is a whole lot healthier than boiling your vegetables in water or frying them. Cauliflower, green beans, cabbage, squash, zucchini, and Brussel sprouts can all be steamed. All you have to do is put about a half inch of water in a large pot. Then place the steamer in the pot and add in the vegetables to be steamed. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil. Remember, don't oversteam your vegetables. The crisper and less cooked they are, the more healthy they are.
There are other important things to have in your kitchen that are good for your health, but I'll save those for the next posting. In the meantime, start shopping for some healthy cookware that will certainly be worth the investment in your health and the health of your family. To your health, the Naked Nutrition Knight

Terminator Seed Threatens World's Food Supply and Your Health - Keys to Good Nutrition and to Eating Healthy
Johnny Appleseed Vs. The Terminator Seed
"Until recently the magic of the garden, the joy of growing plants and food, was as simple as collecting Mother Nature's seeds and caring for them season after season. Since I was 5 years old I have taken great joy in collecting veggie and flower seeds and giving them away, spreading the beauty of the plants they contained throughout the world. My dad filled me with wonder at the stories of Johnny Appleseed's accomplishments, and I strive to follow his admirable path. Sweetpeas and tomatoes are my favorite. My dad and I gave away thousands of seeds and they are all over the world."
"Now simple human pleasures as this are in jeopardy. Monsanto and other large seed companies, now claim their seeds as 'intellectual property.' In this way, seed companies prohibit farmers by force from saving and reusing seeds from one crop to the next. Even more disturbingly, major seed companies have made great strides in genetically engineering Terminator sterile seeds that sprout plants incapable of reproducing!"
"If dad and I didn't collect and spread these veggie and flower seeds around the world, there would be no seed legacy to give us joy! But Terminator seeds would only be rotting pellets in the ground. Save the world's seeds - for you and your children! Please protest to stop this: call, fax, or email the President, and your Governor, Senators, and state officials. Visit these websites: www.firstgov.gov www.etcgroup.org www.journeytoforever.org."

------------------------------
Comments on the above article by the Naked Nutrition Knight
I strongly encourage you to learn about what's happening to our food supply and do something about it to protect your life and health and that of your posterity. What Monsanto and other big agro-chemical companies are doing to genetically modify our seeds is immoral and unethical, and it is destroying the very foundation of the food supply - seeds. Becoming educated about what's really happening to our food supply and our seeds is one more of the keys to good nutrition and to eating healthy.
For six thousand years, farmers all over the world have planted seeds, watered them, and harvested crops from them to feed their families and to sell in the marketplace. Most importantly, the farmers have always kept some of the seeds for replanting for the next year's crops. Their future harvests have always depended upon the God-created seeds that had the built-in ability to reproduce themselves year after year. Now, man has gotten involved through genetic modification and has produced a seed that does not reproduce itself. In other words, farmers who use these seeds will have to buy new seeds year after year from the agro-chemical companies just to survive and have another crop. Companies like Monsanto have introduced the Terminator seed which is nothing more than a suicidal seed. This means that after the seed produces a harvest it commits suicide or self destructs. This kind of meddling with God's seeds is already having devastating consequences upon farmers around the world.
I strongly urge you to watch the documentary entitled, "The Future of Food." You can find it on YouTube or at Mercola.com and you can watch it right on your computer. You deserve to know what's really happening with our food supply before it's too late to do anything about it. Genetically modified products are already in approximately 70% of the food products at your local supermarket. In addition, over 30% of the farmland in America is already growing genetically modified crops, and America is exporting these foods all over the world. One of the worst things about GM seeds and crops is that they spread to neighboring non-GM fields and end up contaminating non-GM crops and fields. This is done by wind blowing the seeds from one farm to a neighboring farm, and it is also being done be careless transportation of GM seeds and crops.
When this happens, the agro-chemical company that patented the genetically modified seed comes in and sues the farmer for stealing their seed, makes them pay a large penalty, and then forces them to destroy all of their own stores of seeds for future planting. One by one, small farmers are having their crops contaminated, are being sued, are having all of their future seeds destroyed forever, and they are being put out of business by the Terminator seed and its creators, Monsanto. It's time for Americans to speak up and say "No more of this insanity!" It's time to stop the immoral and unethical practice of patenting genetically modified seeds, including the Terminator seed. We need to return to the ways of Johnny Appleseed and blessing the rest of the world with healthy reproducing seeds.

3 Reasons Whole Food Nutritional Supplements Are Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy
"Nutrition directly affects growth, development, reproduction, well-being of an individual's physical and mental condition. Health depends upon nutrition more than any other single factor." - Dr. W. H. Sebrell, Jr.
Whole food nutritional supplements are one of the keys to good nutrition and to eating healthy. I would like to share three prime purposes for taking whole food nutritional supplements.
Purpose #1 - To fill in the nutritional gaps created by poor eating habits.
Most people do not eat the way they should. In fact, if you're completely honest, you'd probably agree that you don't eat the way that you should either. Even if you're quite the healthy eater, there are still gaps in your diet that need to be filled in with good nutrition. We all have a few poor eating habits and vices that leave holes in our nutrition armor. One of the best way to fill in these nutritional gaps is to take live whole food nutritional supplements on a daily basis.
Purpose #2- To compensate and fill in the nutritional gaps created by nutritionally inferior foods.
As you may know, food today is not what it was 100 or 200 years ago. Our soil has been depleted, and so even our fresh produce has only a fraction of the nutrition it had 100 years ago. For this reason it is important to compensate for this factor by taking live whole food based nutritional supplements every day.
Purpose #3 - To protect your body from toxic factors and to help your body detoxify from all of the environmental poisons that you are exposed to today.
Many of the nutrients in whole food nutritional supplements have protective properties against many of today's toxic environmental factors. The whole food based antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytonutrients in a high quality supplement can help protect you from the damaging effects of poisonous additives and residues in your water, food, air, clothing, cosmetics, household items, etc. In fact, some of the whole food nutrients not only protect but also help your body detoxify and get rid of the toxins in your body. This is one more major reason why it's so important to take a whole food based nutritional supplement on a daily basis.
I've been taking an incredibly healthy live whole food based nutritional supplement called, "The Feast," made by Uri International. I was introduced to this amazing product by a friend of mine named Brett Rademacher of Urilife. If you would like more information on this InstaFresh juice powder, otherwise known as a super juice, click on the link at the top left of this blog. This is simply the best product I could find on the market today that is made with the highest quality whole food ingredients, most of which are organic. To your health, the Naked Nutrition Knight

#1 Health and Longevity SECRET - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy
"A drunkard may reach old age; a glutton, never." - Sylvester Graham
I'd like to share with you the number one health and longevity secret. Would you like to know how to live longer and healthier? Would you like to live in optimum health and live to a ripe old age before you die? Would you like to enjoy your health and actually die healthy? If so, then I've got some good news for you.
Now, before I share it with you, I'd like to make you a deal. I will share this secret with you, IF you will promise to try it for at least 3 weeks. Fair enough? Let me explain.
Why 3 weeks? I personally believe that it takes about 3 weeks to create a new habit, whether good or bad. In this case, you're going to be doing both. You're going to be creating for yourself a new lifestyle changing habit, while at the same time you're breaking an old unhealthy habit. If you can apply this secret to your life for three weeks, consistently, then you'll have the best chance of it becoming a new healthy lifestyle habit. Once it becomes a habit, it will be far easier to do on a consistent basis. As a new habit, it will benefit your health in numerous ways and contribute to your longevity.
#1 HEALTH AND LONGEVITY SECRET - Practice systematic undereating.
It may sound too simple to be true, but this truly is the number one health and longevity principle. This key to good nutrition and eating healthy is critical to your health and well being.
For the next three weeks, I want you to practice conscious under-eating. In other words, every time you sit down to eat a meal or a snack, I want you to take smaller portions than usual and eat less. It's that simple, but it really makes a huge difference upon your health and how you feel after eating a meal.
The less you eat, the better you will feel because your digestive system will not be overloaded. Every time you eat, you put your digestive system to work breaking down the food in your stomach. Then your body has to assimilate the good nutrients and eliminate all of the toxins and waste. This whole 3-step process puts a strain on your body and it's main organs.
What's the opposite of under-eating? OVEREATING! Did you know that overeating is one of the main causes of premature aging and degenerative illnesses? Overeating is a huge problem in our nation. Americans, on the average, overeat more than almost any other culture. As a result, we have not only a very high percentage of overweight and obese people, we have millions of people who are suffering from premature aging and terrible degenerative illnesses.
Here's one final eating healthy tip. Eat only when you are really hungry. If you're not hungry at mealtime, skip the meal. And remember, when you are hungry, practice conscious systematic under-eating. You will live a lot longer and be able to enjoy optimum health. To your health, the Naked Nutrition Knight

God-made Foods Vs. Man-made Products - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy

"If it wasn't a food 100 years ago, it's a man-made product." - Brett Rademacher
I'd like to give you a standard by which you can measure all food products to know if they are healthy or not. Use these keys to good nutrition and tips to eating healthy when you're out food shopping or eating in a restaurant. Simply ask yourself these two questions:
Question #1 - "Was this a food 100 years ago?"
Question #2 - "Is this a God-made food or a man-made product?"
If the food product you are considering eating or drinking WAS a food 100 years ago, then it is most probably a whole food and healthy for you. In other words, it is probably a GOD-MADE FOOD that was designed by God to meet the nutritional needs of your body. Therefore, it is a good whole food and should be eaten and enjoyed.
However, if you're considering a food product that WAS NOT a food 100 years ago, then it is most definitely a MAN-MADE PRODUCT and is NOT healthy for your body. Don't eat it or drink it! It is simply not good for your health and will put a toxic stress on your organs.
Let's look at a couple of examples and see if this measuring rod holds true.
1. An Organic Apple - This was a food 100 years ago, and it is a God-made food that is healthy to eat today.
2. High Fructose Corn Sweetener - This was not a food 100 years ago, and it is a man-made product that is NOT healthy to eat. Unfortunately, man (food manufacturers) has found a way to put this unhealthy man-made toxic sweetener in most of the products in the supermarket, often without the consumer even knowing it's there, and usually without the consumer knowing how dangerously unhealthy it is for his health.
3. An Organic Carrot - This was a food 100 years ago, and it is a God-made food that provides good nutrition to your body.
4. Hydrogenated Oils (Trans Fats) - This was not a food 100 years ago, and it is a man-made product that is very UN-healthy for your body. Unfortunately, this toxic form of oil is found in many man-made food products in the supermarket and in restaurants.
5. Artificial Sweeteners - These are obviously man-made products and were NOT a food 100 years ago. They are extremely toxic to your body and cause all kinds of terrible physical health problems. Therefore, never use Aspartame, NutraSweet, Splenda, and Saacharin.
6. MSG (monosodium glutamate) - This was not a food 100 years ago, and it is a man-made food additive that is very UN-healthy for your body. Unfortunately, food manufacturers and restaurant owners have found hundreds of ways to sneak it into their man-made food products without the consumer even knowing it's there. Avoid this excito-toxin at all costs.
7. Organic 100% Whole Wheat Flour - This was a food 100 years ago, and it still is because it was made by God. This is the only kind of wheat flour to bake with and eat.
8. "Enriched" Wheat Flour - This was NOT a food 100 years ago, and it is a man-made product that is very UN-healthy for your body. Most of the good nutrition has been bleached out and stripped out, with a few synthetic vitamins and minerals added back in that your body cannot even use. Unfortunately, this is the most common kind of flour that food manufacturers put into their hundreds of baked goods. Another danger with eating this man-made product is that it is most probably a genetically modified (GM) product that is very UN-healthy for you.
I could go on and on with a ton of examples, but I hope you see my point. Most foods fit into one of these two categories: God-made foods and man-made foods. Most food products can be classified into one of these categories, which will help you choose what to eat and what to avoid.
There are a few things that do not easily fit into these two categories, and if you ask if they were a food 100 years ago, some people might say "Yes," while others would say "No." These are special cases that you need to look deeper at in order to make a wise decision. For example, what about pork products and shellfish?
The truth is that God did not create pigs and shellfish to be eaten by man. They are God-made creatures, but they are NOT God-made foods. Let me explain.
God created certain creatures to be scavengers on the earth and to eat nasty things like the decomposing flesh of other animals. Pigs, shrimp, lobsters, crabs, clams, scallops, and vultures are all scavengers that God designed to eat rubbish and garbage and other scum on the ground and ocean seafloor. When you study the dietary restrictions that God gave His people in the Bible, you will find all of these scavengers prohibited for health reasons. When man does not abide by these dietary restrictions that God set up for our good, he starts consuming a whole host of toxins that accumulate in his body and eventually lead to all kinds of terrible physical health problems and illnesses. If you don't believe me, ask any marine biologist about the levels of mercury and other poisons found in clams and scallops. In summary, certain creatures that God made were strictly forbidden to be eaten because God did not make them to be food for mankind. Pigs, shellfish, birds of prey, and the like are not to be eaten by man, and if they are, they will cause him to become sick and loaded with toxins that are destructive to the body. They are God-made creatures, but they are not God-made foods.
In conclusion, when you're out shopping for food or eating at a restaurant, always ask yourself these two questions.
1. Is this a God-made food or a man-made food?
2. Was this a food 100 years ago?
If the answer to both of these questions is "YES" - then eat it and enjoy it.
If the answer to either of these questions is "NO" - then do NOT eat it because it is not healthy for your body and will cause you many health problems.

Choose to Live Long & Die Healthy - Keys to Eating Healthy and to Good Nutrition

"When you don't have your health, what do you have? - Brett Rademacher
It's sad but true that most people don't think much about their health...until they lose it. Think about it for a long serious minute. If you don't have your health, what do you have left? The pleasure of your existence and the significance of your purpose usually depend on being healthy enough to enjoy your life and do something with it.
I'd like to share with you some more keys to good nutrition and tips to eating healthy that just might help you to live to a ripe old age of 120 years and die healthy.
Here's an illustration to consider. If I were to offer you $10 million for both of your eyes, would you sell them to me? On the one hand, you could sure use the money to help you achieve your purpose in this life and really enjoy yourself while doing it. On the other hand, you wouldn't really be able to enjoy yourself that much without the use of your two eyes. You could have your $10 million dollars, build a beautiful house in the Swiss Alps, and yet never have the pleasure of seeing the beauty all around you including the mountains, forests, wildlife, snow, your house and your family. In other words, to lose the use of your eyes would defeat the whole purpose of getting the money.
Now, think of how this illustration relates to your health. If I were a big food manufacturer and restaurant owner, and I were to offer you cheap, great tasting food (including junk food of all kinds, fast food of every type, packaged foods of every variety and taste, canned foods that were highly convenient, sweet foods that were simply delicious loaded with fats, sugars, and carbs, etc.), would you sell your future health to me by buying my food?
You might say, "Well, what do you mean? I don't have to sell you my future health to eat your food. That's ridiculous!"
The TRUTH is - every time you eat unhealthy, denatured, packaged, man-made processed foods from the supermarket and from restaurants, you are selling your future health and will some day reap what you have sown into your body - sickness, physical health problems, and illness of all kinds imaginable. Most people just don't want to hear this, but it's true nonetheless. "What you sow, you will reap." This is a natural and spiritual law.
The above illustration reminds me of the story of Jacob and Esau. As you may remember, Esau came in from hunting and was tired and very hungry. Jacob was relaxing and enjoying some good lentil soup he had made. Esau asked his brother if he could have some, and Jacob told him he could IF he would sell him his birthright. Esau then sold Jacob his birthright for the price of a bowl of lentil soup! Can you believe that? Esau gave up all of the inheritance rights and blessings of the first born son, just to satisfy his hunger for some soup.
Now, how does this apply to you and me today? Every day, in every town and city across America, this tragic story is relived by millions of people. Every day people "sell their birthright to health" to the food manufacturers and restaurant owners of America, just in order to satisfy their hunger for something that tastes good to them (junk food, fast food, fattening food, whatever). People are literally trading away their health for ill-health. They are exchanging their future health for present gratification.
I strongly encourage you and admonish you to value your health birthright for what it is - a gift from God for you to enjoy throughout your whole life. Don't despise your health birthright, as Esau did, and sell it for some unhealthy processed food that will satisfy your stomach only temporarily, but that will eventually rob you of your health and enjoyment of this life.
One last thought. Do you want to end up in a nursing home or a hospital bed dying of some terminal illness when you're 45, or 55, or 65, unable to enjoy the second half of your life with your family and friends? If you're not sure, then go visit a hospital ward and a nursing home and meet the people there who are dying prematurely of dreaded illnesses. Ask them what they would give to have their health back and to have another 50 years to enjoy it. Then ask yourself if you want to follow in their footsteps and end up like them wasting half of their lives. Do you really want to die young and die unhealthy, or would you prefer to live long and die healthy when you're 120?
The choice is yours, and you make it every day. Every time you put something in your body, food or drink, you are making the choice for a healthy future or an unhealthy premature death by illness. It's your choice: health or ill-health, based upon healthy eating habits or unhealthy eating habits. What will your decision be today? Tomorrow? Next week? Next month?
CHOOSE LIFE!
CHOOSE TO LIVE TO BE 120 YEARS OLD.
MAKE THE CHOICE TODAY TO DIE HEALTHY AT A RIPE OLD AGE!
