"We are one of the sickest nations in the world. Despite all the vast sums of money that are spent on health care each year, we are still one of the sickest countries in the world. In 1900 we were the healthiest country of all the nations. We were in first place. At last count in 1998 we had dropped down to the 79th healthiest country. The main reason for this tremendous decline in the country's health is because of two main factors: number one the increased use of junk food and sugar, and number two, the increased number of clogged constipated colons. These two factors alone have destroyed the health of this once great nation. The quality of food and the health of the colon can either make or break a country. In our case it has just about broken it." - Dr. Irons
I recently received an email from Dr. Ted Broer that I would like to share parts of with you. It is all focused on the colon and its relationship to health. Here are personally selected portions of an interview between Dr. Broer's "Healthview" and Dr. V.E. Irons.
HEALTHVIEW: Mr. Irons, we have talked with you at length before on the colon and its relation to ill health. Is a toxic colon really as big a factor in premature aging as you say it is?
IRONS: Absolutely. As far as I am concerned, a diseased, toxic colon is one of the greatest causes of premature aging that ever existed. Old age begins right in the colon. The more diseased and toxic a person's colon is, the more quickly he will age. A toxic colon can rob a person of his youth, deplete his energy supply, and advance him rapidly on the road to old age. In my opinion, there is only one MAIN disease in this country, and that is a toxic colon. It is directly responsible for more health problems than any other single cause. What makes me so upset today is that most people never even consider the colon as the source of their health problems. Whether a person has a cold, a headache, a fever, or whether he is suffering from a serious health problem such as arthritis, diabetes or even cancer-it just doesn't matter-THE COLON IS NEVER CONSIDERED, it is never mentioned, IT IS AS IF THE COLON DIDN'T EVEN EXIST! Yet, ironically, there is not one health condition in the world that is not adversely affected by a toxic colon. Every single health problem that ever existed, can either directly or indirectly be caused by a diseased and toxic colon.
About the only place you see a normal healthy colon today is in an anatomy book.
HEALTHVIEW: How many people would you say have an unhealthy colon?
IRONS: Virtually everyone! Just a few years ago the U.S. Public Health Service said that 90% of the people had a clogged colon. I would disagree with that statement. I feel that 99% of the people have a clogged colon. Almost everyone today has a clogged, constipated colon. Most people's colons, instead of being fast moving sewer systems, have become stagnant cesspools. You can have two or three movements a day, and still have a terribly clogged colon.
DR. IRONS: FOUR SYMPTOMS OF OLD AGE THAT ARE CAUSED BY A TOXIC COLON
Exhaustion: Fatigue and exhaustion are the main symptoms of a toxic colon. Toxins from the colon will travel to the energy glands of the body (the thyroid and the adrenal glands) and slow them down immensely. As soon as this happens, you will gradually start to lose the pep and vitality you had in your youth. The sooner you clean out your colon, the sooner you will regain your youthful energy.
Facial Wrinkles: Facial lines and wrinkles start right in the colon. Toxins from the colon will age the tissues of the skin and cause it to sag and wrinkle. The best way to keep your skin smooth and wrinkle-free is to start cleaning out your colon.
Poor Sex Life: A toxic colon is one of the greatest causes of a poor sex life. How could anyone fully enjoy sex when he has up to fifteen years of encrusted fecal matter and mucus in his colon? HE CAN'T-and HE DOESN'T. I have gotten so many letters from people who regained the sexual potency of their youth after they went on my colon cleansing program. One woman wrote to me and told me that her husband wasn't going to divorce her now because their sex life had improved so much. Cleaning out her colon saved her marriage. It happens all the time. So if you want to remain sexually potent for your entire life, start cleaning your colon today. And if I can at my age, I know you can at your age, go get with it!
Infertility: One couple I know was not able to have a child in their fourteen years of married life. After both the husband and wife cleaned out their colons (it took them about a year), they were then able to give birth to their first child. They eventually had a second child. I was able to father a son at the age of 81 and the main reason I could do so was because my colon was clean.
A CLEAN COLON RESULTS IN:
1. Tremendous energy 2. Smooth, wrinkle free skin,
3. Great, energetic sex 4. Fertility into your eighties
IRONS: Most people are aging because they are walking cesspools. They are literally rotting and decaying from the inside out.
HEALTHVIEW: How exactly does a diseased colon cause premature aging?
IRONS: It's the poisons. That's what the problem is. Poisons from a toxic colon will travel to every part of the body such as the heart, the brain, the kidneys, and the liver and age these organs prematurely. There is no part of a person's body which cannot be affected by a toxic colon. The poisons from a backed up colon will eventually seep into every single cell in the body and cause grave health problems. What would happen if you didn't empty your kitchen garbage can for months and you kept on throwing more and more food on top of it? Wouldn't your entire house start smelling like a garbage dump? Well, the same thing happens with a constipated, clogged up colon. The stench and fumes will permeate the entire body-including your skin, your teeth, your eyes, and even your nerves. NO PART OF YOUR BODY IS IMMUNE FROM THE POISONS OF A TOXIC COLON. It is the toxic filth in our systems, which kills us. That is why people age so rapidly today-their own internal filth is killing them. Most people are aging because they are walking cesspools. They are actually rotting and decaying from the inside out.
HEALTHVIEW: Does the medical profession acknowledge that a toxic colon can cause any health problems?
IRONS: I doubt it. The medical profession knows very little about the colon. Most of them are ignorant on the subject-totally ignorant. In my opinion, most medical doctors should have their licenses taken away until they start to treat the real cause of people's problems-a diseased colon. Most of the drugs, medicines, and operations given today have never made any person's colon one bit healthier. If anything, they have only made the situation hundreds of times worse.
HEALTHVIEW: What exactly do you recommend that people do to clean out the colon?
IRONS: I have a simple two-step program. The first part is to take my intestinal cleaner twice a day. The second part is to use my colema board to do-it-yourself home colonics. If your readers follow this simple two-part program, they will be able to clean a good part of the stagnant filth out of their colons in just 4-6 weeks. After that, they will feel at least a hundred times better than they feel right now. And best of all, they will begin to enjoy the energy they had ten to fifteen years ago or more. The intestinal cleaner helps to loosen the hardened, impacted fecal matter and mucus.
HEALTHVIEW: Do you have any last words of encouraging advice for our readers on staying young and healthy and avoiding future diseases?
IRONS: Yes, I do. Remember, as I said before, old age and disease starts right in the colon. If your readers want to have the health and energy of a youth again, they can easily do so by cleaning out their colons-and keeping them clean. If you are in old age, you can now regain the health and energy of a middle-aged person. If you are middle-aged, you can now regain the health and energy of a person in his twenties. And if you are in your twenties, you can now regain the health and energy you once had in your teens. The secret to a healthy life is a healthy colon. I am 87 years old now, and as a result of keeping my colon clean, I have more energy and pep than most people who are only fifty. I am up at 7:00 am every day and I put in a full day's work---seven days a week. I hope all of your readers are able to live to be at least as old as I am now---and hopefully a lot longer than that.
How to live a long healthy life - By V.E. Irons
1. Don't eat refined sugar or sweets - Refined sugar is one of the greatest "life shorteners" there is. This means don't eat any sweets, pastries, donuts, ice cream, or soda pop.
2. Don't eat Junk Food - My simple rule is this: the less junk food you eat, the longer you will live. It is the best advice I can give you to avoid old age.
3. Vegetable Salad-Try to eat a large vegetable salad once a day. It's great to keep your colon clean.
4. Meat and Milk-Try not to eat meat and milk products during the same meal. These foods digest better when they are eaten alone.
5. Fresh Fruit-Try to eat at least two pieces of fresh fruit every day.
6. Water-Drink your fluids at least half an hour before your meals or at least three hours after your meals. Try to drink at least a quart of good water every day. This will help to keep your colon clean.
7. Raw Foods-Eat as much raw food as you can. The more cooked foods you eat, the quicker you will age.

Enjoy STEVIA
the World's Healthiest Natural Sweetener
Stevia drops (2 drops = 1 tsp sugar) from a South African plant, helps regulate blood sugar and lowers blood pressure, but it doesn't affect normal blood pressure.
Calorie-free Stevia is suitable for diabetics, safe for children, and doesn't cause cavities.
Stevia helps mental alertness, combats fatigue, and improves digestion.
Here's a great article that I found at http://www.stevia.com/

The Feast, by Uri International (Yuri), is sweetened by fruits and berries, but it also has a little bit of Stevia in it. I encourage you to try the Feast and see for yourself how good it tastes! And remember to reject every product that has artificial sweeteners in it such as NutraSweet, Aspartame, Splenda, saccharin, sucrose, high fructose corn syrup, white sugar, sucralose, Sweet-N-Low, Equal, etc. All of these artificial sweeteners are destructive to your health no matter what the advertising says or the FDA. Avoid them at all costs. The healthiest natural sweeteners are unheated unprocessed honey, stevia, and organic agave nectar.

Juice Fasting Pt 12 - Keys to Good Nutrition and to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast Yuri

A FEW MORE FAMOUS QUOTES
ON JUICE FASTING
I'd like to share with you a few more quotes on fasting that will inspire and motivate you to get started with the joy of juice fasting.
These quotes were gleaned from a great website that I would also like to recommend you visit.
http://www.fasting.com/
"Every patient carries her or his own doctor inside."--Albert Schweitzer, M.D., 1875-1965, Alsatian medical missionary, theologian and musician
"Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness."--Hippocrates, M.D., 460-377 B.C., Father of Western Medicine
"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her or his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease."--Thomas Edison, 1847-1931, America's greatest inventive mind (patented 1093: light bulb, phonograph, microphone, carbon telephone transmitter, motion-picture camera, et. al.)
"Fasting and natural diet, though essentially unknown [in today's U.S.] as a therapy, should be the first treatment when someone discovers that she or he has a medical problem. It should not be applied only to the most advanced cases, as is present practice. Whether the patient has a cardiac condition, hypertension, autoimmune disease, fibroids, or asthma, he or she must be informed that fasting and natural, plant-based diets are a viable alternative to conventional therapy, and an effective one. The time may come when not offering this substantially more effective nutritional approach will be considered malpractice."--Joel Fuhrman, M.D., from his book, Fasting And Eating For Health: A Medical Doctor's Program for Conquering Disease
"A wise person should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings." --Hippocrates, 400 years before Christ; famed Greek physician and Father of Western Medicine
"Fasting is the greatest remedy--the physician within!"--Philippus Paracelsus, nearly 500 years ago; famed Swiss physician, considered one of three fathers of Western Medicine, along with Greece's Hippocrates and Galen

- Quotation by Allan Cott, M.D.
Don't be a Slave to Foods
"Most humans are slaves to foods; they must have breakfast, lunch and dinner at regular meal hours every day, year in and year out. They eat whether they are hungry or not, and their poor bodies are burdened by overeating . . . and usually poor nutrition as well! No wonder we have so many physical wrecks! One of the greatest nutritional teachers in the world, Professor Arnold Ehret, said, 'Life is a tragedy of nutrition.' How true is the old trite saying, 'Man digs his grave with his knife and fork!' Many people never give their stomachs a rest. They continually stuff and work the digestive and eliminative functions with an overabundance of food. This excessive burden means that the functions of digestion and elimination become so overworked and so exhausted that they simply collapse. The entire body then becomes enervated! Millions suffer from fatigue. Old age is not a time of life. It is a condition of the body. It is not time that ages the body, it is abuse that does." – Herbert Shelton

Juice Fasting Pt 9 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
HOW TO BREAK OR END A JUICE FAST
I'd like to share some juice fasting tips today on how to break your fast as I near the end of this series on juice fasting.
Breaking a juice fast is the most important phase of the whole fast because the beneficial effects of juice fasting can be totally undone if you break it incorrectly and unwisely.
"Even a fool can fast, but only a wise man knows how to break the fast properly and to build up properly after the fast!" - Dr. Otto F.H. Buchinger
Tip # 1 - DO NOT OVEREAT!
After disciplining yourself to fast, don't blow it by overeating the moment your fast ends. This is the first and most important rule regarding fasting, and it also happens to be the first and most important rule of healthy eating and longevity.
Tip # 2 - CHEW YOUR FOOD VERY WELL AND EAT SLOWLY
You'd be surprise to find out how many people eat their food in a hurry and don't really chew their food well enough. Chewing is a very important step in the digestion process, and if you skip it, you put an added strain on your stomach and digestive system. Chewing your food extremely well is all the more critical when you break your fast. Your stomach needs all the help it can get from you as it adjusts to food again, and the best way that you can help it is by eating slowly and chewing your food thoroughly for digestion purposes.
Tip # 3 - GRADUALLY TRANSITION TO A NORMAL DIET OVER SEVERAL DAYS
According to Dr. Paavo Airola, "In order to benefit from fasting to the greatest possible extent, it is of paramount importance that after fasting a build-up diet of vital natural foods be maintained....Such a diet will supply the healing and regenerative forces of your body with all the needed elements, so that the cleansing, regenerative, rejuvenative, and healing processes initiated by the body during fasting can be continued."
Make sure that your build-up diet is made up of organic natural live whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, greens, raw or sprouted whole grains, seeds, and nuts.
Here is a suggested eating schedule after breaking a juice fast.
Day One - Eat a whole apple in the morning (slowly), a very small bowl of raw vegetable salad for lunch, and continue to drink your usual vegetable broth and fruit and vegetable juices.
Day Two - Soaked figs or prunes, with the soaking water, for breakfast; a small bowl of raw vegetable salad for lunch; vegetable soup for dinner (made without salt); two apples can be eaten between meals; and continue to drink your usual juices and broth.
Day Three - Same as Day two, but add a few raw nuts and a small glass of yogurt for breakfast. Increase the size of your salad for lunch, and add a boiled or baked potato. In the evening, have fresh soup with a slice of whole-grain bread with butter and cheese.
Day Four - Start eating normally, but try to stick to a very healthy whole food diet, avoiding processed foods and sugars.
* If your juice fast lasted more than 10 days, the break-in period should be extended one day for every 4 days of fasting. For example, if you fasted for 14 days, then your break-in period should be four days instead of three.

Juice Fasting Pt 8 - Keys to Good Nutrition with Uri Feast & Tips to Eating Healthy
MAKE YOUR OWN JUICE FASTING VEGETABLE BROTH
In all biological clinics in Europe, vegetable broth is a standard beverage during juice fasting. All fasting patients drink a large glass of healthy vegetable broth every morning and every evening before going to sleep.
What's so great about vegetable broth?
Vegetable broth is an alkalizing and cleansing beverage that supplies a lot of minerals and vitamins, which are so important establishing and normalizing a proper chemical balance in the tissues during juice fasting. Vegetable broth is especially rich in the mineral potassium, which is of very useful and effective in the treating of various illness such as arthritis.
VEGETABLE BROTH RECIPE
2 large potatoes, unpeeled, chopped, or sliced to one half inch pieces
1 cup beets, sliced or shredded
1 cup carrots, sliced or shredded
1 cup celery, with leaves, chopped to one half inch pieces
Optional: 1 cup any other available vegetables (turnips, turnip tops, beet tops, parsley, cabbage, or a little bit of everything on hand and in season)
Cook vegetables in an earthenware, enameled, or stainless steel pot.
Fill up the pot with ONE AND A HALF QUARTS OF WATER and slice the vegetables straight into the water to prevent them from oxidizing.
Cover and cook the vegetables slowly for at least half an hour.
Then let them stand for another half hour, strain out the vegetables, cool until warm, and then serve.
If you don't use the vegetable broth immediately, store in refrigerator. Remember to warm it up before serving it again.

Juice Fasting Pt 7 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
What to DRINK during your Juice Fast
JUICES
The best kind of juice to drink during your juice fast is fresh, live home-made juice. If you have a juicer, you can make your own fresh juice just before drinking it. Do NOT drink pasteurized, processed, preserved bottled or canned juices that are found in the supermarket. These juices are dead, are often loaded with sugar and high fructose corn syrup, and are very unhealthy for you. Do NOT drink these because they are dead juices.
There are several good books out there that have recipes for juicing and juice fasting.
Drink juices made from fresh fruits, berries, greens, and vegetables.
The fruit juices most frequently used during juice fasts are: apple, orange, grapefruit, lemon, grapes, pineapple, and pear.
Here are some recommended vegetable juices: carrot, beets, celery, cabbage, as well as green juice (chlorophyll drink) made from green leaves of alfalfa, wheat grass, comfrey, carrot tops, beet tops, and/or other available edible greens.
If you don't have a juicer, you can do what I do, which is to mix up a large glass of The Feast, by Uri International. The Feast is a live whole food based InstaFresh super juice powdered mix that has over 30 fresh fruits and berries and 30 fresh greens and vegetables in it. It is not pasteurized and has no sugar or artificial sweeteners in it. It is a very convenient way to drink your fresh live whole food fruits, berries, greens, and vegetables during your juice fast. At the bottom of this posting is a link for more information about the Feast and how you can order some.
It is usually best to dilute your fresh fruit and vegetable juices with water about 50%-50%.
NATURAL SPRING WATER
In my next posting I'll teach you how to make a VEGETABLE BROTH, which is another thing you can drink while doing a juice fast.

Juice Fasting Pt 6 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
First, you'll have to go to a drug store to buy a simple enema kit (enema bag with a rubber hose and a nozzle).
Second, fill the enema bag with lukewarm water (about 100 degrees F). You'll need 1 pint to 1 quart of water.
Third, the best position for taking an enema is on your knees, head down to the floor, with the enema bag hanging 2-3 feet above the rectum, in order to get sufficient water flow pressure. You can regulate the flow of the water by using the clamp on the tube. Before inserting the nozzle, lubricate the nozzle with some olive oil or vaseline to make insertion easier. Also, let a little water out first to remove any air bubbles. If you feel discomfort, slow down the water flow or stop it for a moment and take some deep breaths, and then continue again until the bag is empty and all the water is in you.
Fourth, try to retain the water for a while before emptying your bowels. Lie first on your back for a minute, then on your right side, then on your stomach, and then on your left side. While doing all of this, gently massage your stomach with your hands. Then get up and empty your bowels into the toilet. Stay long enough to make sure your bowels are empty.
Additional points to keep in mind...
Keep the equipment clean by washing it with soap and hot water.
You can give yourself an enema once or twice a day. The best time is first thing in the morning, and if you do it twice, then also in the evening before going to sleep.
You can do this at home by yourself. However, if at all possible, have your fasting supervised by someone who is well initiated in it. Under experienced supervision, a juice fast could be undertaken at home for up to 30 days, if necessary. If you are ill, you should consult your doctor on advisability of fasting in your case. I would not advise fasting longer than one week to ten days at a time while doing this by yourself at home.
In future postings, I will discuss what kinds of juices to drink and give you a recipe for home-made vegetable broth. I will also share more tips on juice fasting, as well as how to properly end a juice fast.

Deceptive Food Labels - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
Regarding FOOD LABELS and INGREDIENTS LISTS
You would think that the food labels or ingredients list on food products are designed to inform consumers about what’s in the product. Surprise! The opposite is actually true. Food manufacturers are using the ingredients list to deceive consumers into thinking that their products are healthier than they really are. Keep in mind that food ingredients are listed in order of their proportion in the food, with the biggest ingredients listed first.
A Few “Tricks of the Trade” Used by Food Manufacturers:
First, they distribute sugars among many ingredients so that sugars don’t appear in the top three. For instance, they may use a combination of high-fructose corn syrup, brown sugar, sucrose, dextrose, corn syrup solids, etc. to make sure that none of these appear in the top three ingredients. This fools and misinforms consumers about the total content of sugar in the product.
Another trick is to “pad” the end of the list with miniscule amounts of healthy-sounding berries, herbs, or superfoods such as goji berries, blueberries, spirulina, or green tea. The truth is there just isn’t enough of these superfood ingredients in the food to have any effect on your health, and yet they advertise these ingredients on the front to make consumers think they’re getting healthy food.
Thirdly, they hide dangerous ingredients behind innocent-sounding names that trick consumers into thinking they are safe. For example, “yeast extract” sounds perfectly safe, but it’s actually a trick used to hide MSG (monosodium glutamate), a chemical taste enhancer that has many health risks associated with it. Another example is “sodium nitrite” which is a highly carcinogenic ingredient documented to cause brain tumors and many kinds of cancers.
Fourth, don’t be fooled by product names. Be on your guard because food names can include words that describe ingredients not even found in the product. For example, a “cheese” cracker may not contain any cheese, and a “guacamole” dip may have no avacado in it. Absurd!
Fifth, be aware that ingredients lists don’t include contaminants. Manufacturers are not required to list chemical contaminants, heavy metals, pesticides, or other toxic substances found in the food, even though they are there.
Sixth, food producers manipulate the food “serving size” in order to make it appear that their products are devoid of harmful ingredients such as trans fatty acids. The FDA created a loophole for reporting trans fatty acids on the label: any food with 0.5 grams or less of trans fatty acids “per serving” is allowed to claim “zero” on the label. Exploiting this loophole, unscrupulous companies arbitrarily reduce the serving sizes to ridiculous levels, just enough to lower the trans fats to 0.5 grams per serving. Then, in bold letters on the front of the box, they declare, “ZERO Trans Fats!” In truth, the product may be loaded with trans fats found in hydrogenated oils. This trick is also used to deceive consumers by reducing the number of calories, carbohydrates, or grams of sugar they put on the label.
Seventh, don’t be fooled by the word “wheat” because all flour derived from wheat can be labeled “wheat flour”, even if it’s processed, bleached, and stripped of its nutrition. Only “100% whole grain wheat flour” is a healthy form of flour (make sure it’s not genetically modified).
Finally, don’t be fooled into thinking that “brown” products are always healthier than “white” products. For example, brown sugar is just white sugar with brown coloring and added flavoring; brown eggs are no more healthy than white eggs; and brown bread may be no healthier than white bread because it is often made from white processed flour with brown coloring added.
In conclusion, you’ve got to be on your guard and be smarter than the food manufacturers and their deceptive schemes. Remember that ingredients are listed in order of their proportion in the product, which means the top three ingredients are what you’re primarily eating and matter more than anything else. Stick with ingredients you recognize and can pronounce, and don’t be fooled by healthy-sounding herbs and berries that appear near the end of the list.

Juice Fasting Pt 5 - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
SHOULD YOU USE AN ENEMA WHILE JUICE FASTING?
There is a lot of controversy in America about the use of enemas while fasting. There are some doctors and clinics in America that condemn the use of enemas completely while fasting. They insist that enemas are unnatural, unnecessary, habit-forming, and harmful.
On the other hand, virtually all European fasting authorities agree that using enemas while fasting is beneficial and advisable. They do warn against the regular use of enemas and colonics when not fasting because it is habit-forming. However, the exceptions to this general rule include times of fasting, treating of acute constipation, and treating acute infectious illnesses when the patient is bedridden for long periods and their bowel movements become sluggish.
According to Dr. Paavo Airola, "During fasting, the natural stimulation of the defecation-reflex from food is missing and therefore all the impurities, wastes, and toxins will remain in the body and may cause auto-toxemia, or self-poisoning. The main purpose of fasting is to help the body to cleanse itself from accumulated toxic wastes. By the process of autolysis, a huge amount of morbid matter, dead cells, and diseased tissues are burned; and the toxic wastes which have accumulated in the tissues for years, causing disease and premature aging, are loosened and expelled from the system. The alimentary canal, the digestive and eliminative system, is the main road by which these toxins are thrown out of the body. Since, during fasting, the natural bowel movements cease to take place, the toxic wastes would have no way of leaving the system, except with the help of enemas."
It is for the above mentioned reasons that virtually all biological doctors in Europe administer enemas to all fasting patients (once, twice, or even three times daily). During both juice fasting and water fasting, using an enema will assist the body in its cleansing and detoxifying effort by washing out all the toxic wastes from the alimentary canal.
One of the most common and harmful ailments of modern civilized man is CONSTIPATION. The digestive tract, especially in the colon and lower bowels, becomes stagnant and slack with hardened residues clinging to the walls of the colon and filling its many folds and pockets as a result of long-term constipation.
One of the most common complaints of people over 50 is a condition called "Diverticulitis," which is a chronic condition whereby small pockets of the colon are packed with feces. Often what happens is that the complete length of the colon is packed with hardened old fecal matter, cemented to the wall and pouches, leaving only a thin, narrow channel for soft feces to pass through. It would be unwise for a person to fast without making an effort to cleanse their body of these toxic tissues which are a constant source of auto-intoxication or self-poisoning. In addition, if these toxins are not eliminated through the alimentary canal, the body will try to get rid of them through other eliminative organs such as the kidneys. As a result, these toxins can overload the kidneys and even damage them.
According to Dr. Airola, here is what the European fasting specialists advise for their fasting patients.
1. All of their fasting patients are given DAILY ENEMAS, in addition to WEEKLY COLONIC IRRIGATIONS.
2. To assist the body even further in its detoxification and elimination processes, fasting patients are given DRY BRUSH MASSAGE twice a day. This is very important because it stimulates the eliminative capacity of the skin, which is the biggest eliminative organ of the body.
3. And finally, all fasting patients are advised to WALK and EXERCISE in FRESH AIR as often as possible to help the lungs in their blood-purification work.

Fasting is a very healthy and healing habit to develop and one that you should consider establishing as you start the new year. I personally practice and recommend fasting one day a week (consistently on the same day) and fasting for cleansing, regenerating, and rejuvenating purposes twice a year. Always remember, juice fasting is one of the keys to good nutrition and eating healthy with the Uri Feast.

Juice Fasting Pt 4 - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
WHICH IS BETTER?
In seeking to answer this question, let's begin by referring to some of the world's best fasting authorities.
WHAT THE WORLD'S FASTING AUTHORITIES SAY
Dr. Otto H.F. Buchinger, who has probably supervised more fasts than any other doctor in the world, approximately 80,000+ fasts, uses only juice fasting. In his vast experience, he found that fasting on RAW fruit and vegetable juices, plus vegetable broths and herb teas, resulted in much quicker recovery from illness and more effective cleansing and rejuvenation of the cells and tissues, as compared with traditional water fasting.
Dr. Paavo Airola, who supervised both types of fasting, was thoroughly convinced that juice fasting was far superior to water fasting. He stated that although American practitioners and clinics generally specialize in the antiquated water fast method, that practically all European clinics now use juice fasting exclusively.
Dr. Ragnar Berg, perhaps the world's greatest authority on nutrition and biochemisty, said the following about the superiority of juice fasting over water fasting:
"During fasting the body burns up and excretes huge amounts of accumulated wastes. We can help this cleansing process by drinking alkaline juices instead of water while fasting. I have supervised many fasts and made extensive tests of fasting patients, and I am convinced that drinking alkaline-forming fruit and vegetable juices, instead of water, during fasting will increase the healing effect of fasting. Elimination of uric acid and other inorganic acids will be accelerated. And sugars in juices will strengthen the heart....Juice fasting is therefore the best form of fasting."
8 REASONS WHY JUICE FASTING IS BETTER than Water Fasting
Raw juice fasting is best when you are fasting for cleansing, regeneration, and rejuvenation purposes. Juice fasting will help to revitalize your active cells, will help to break down and dispose of your aging and dying cells, and will help to accelerate the new building of vital cells. The following physiological facts provide the medical justification for the superiority of juice fasting as opposed to water fasting.
1. Raw fruit and vegetable juices and freshly made vegetable broths are rich in enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and trace elements.
2. These vital nutrients are easily assimilated directly into the bloodstream, without straining the digestive system. In this way they do not disrupt or block the healing and rejuvenating process of self-digestion, or autolysis, as suggested by some water fast supporters.
3. These vital nutrients are extremely beneficial in normalizing all of the body's processes, supplying needed elements for the body's healing activity and cell regeneration, thereby speeding up recovery.
4. Vegetable broths and raw juices provide an alkaline surplus, which is vitally important for the proper acid-alkaline balance in the tissues and blood, since blood and tissues contain large amounts of acids during fasting.
5. Raw juices, and particularly fresh vegetable broth, provides generous amounts of minerals which help to restore the mineral and biochemical balance in the cells and tissues. This is important because mineral imbalance in the cells is one of the main causes of diminished oxygenation, which leads to the premature aging of cells and to illness.
6. According to Dr. Ralph Bircher, raw juices contain a factor which stimulates what he calls a micro-electric tension in the body, which is responsible for the cell's ability to absorb nutrients from the bloodstream and efficiently expel metabolic wastes.
7. Contrary to what some people believe, raw fruit and vegetable juices and vegetable broth do NOT stimulate the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which can produce ulcers. It is mainly when protein-rich foods are consumed that hydrochloric acid is secreted.
8. Juice fasting also enables most people to continue with their normal work. Of course, there are exceptions such as jobs that require a high level of concentration. However, for most people, the energy in the raw juices and fresh vegetable broth makes it possible for them to continue working and fulfilling their family responsibilities. This is not necessarily the case with water only fasting.
In conclusion, juice fasting is far superior to water fasting.

MERRY CHRISTMAS - Keys to Good Nutrition & Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
MERRY CHRISTMAS from our Family to Yours
This is a very special time of the year for so many people around the world, including me and my family.
We celebrate Christmas as a remembrance of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. We remember that God sent His Son as a baby to be born in a humble stable, to grow up and show us what God is like, who He is, and to reconcile us back to God our Father. As part of that plan, Jesus was born to die young as a holy sacrifice for the sins of the world, and then to be glorious resurrected to life and bring with Him many sons and daughters to glory in His Father's Kingdom.
I wish you and your family much joy and peace in the Savior of the world.
And remember, instead of throwing all caution to the wind this Christmas season, I encourage you to choose health and choose life. Realizing that the Feast and Beyond Berries are the healthiest and best whole food based super juices on the market today is one of the keys to good nutrition and tips to eating healthy.

Juice Fasting Pt 3 - Keys to Good Nutrition and Tips to Eating Healthy with Uri Feast
HOW LONG
CAN YOU FAST
OR
SHOULD YOU FAST?
The answer to this question depends upon the purpose of your fast.
If you are fasting for the purpose of protecting and defending your body against illness and preventing physical health problems, 7-10 days of fasting will be sufficient. In other words, if you are fasting in order to cleanse, regenerate, and rejuvenate your body (known as prophylactic purposes), then a fast lasting for a week to ten days would be enough. Short fasts such as this can be taken once or twice a year. If you have a proper mental attitude, confidence and understanding of the philosophy and physiology of fasting, you can safely fast on your own for up to ten days. However, if you feel unsure of yourself, you may consult a doctor or fasting practitioner for assistance.
On the other hand, if you are planning a "therapeutic fast" for the purpose of healing, then the length of the fast should be determined by the doctor or practitioner who supervises the fast. Generally, therapeutic fasts vary between 7 days and 40 days. The most common duration of fasts in European clinics is 14 to 21 days. It is not advisable to undertake a do-it-yourself fast for longer than a week or ten days.
Finally, if you are fasting for spiritual reasons, the length of your fast is between you and God. In the Bible, you can find fasts that last anywhere from one day, to three days, to seven days, to 21 days, to 40 days. The people in the Bible who are most known for fasting include Jesus, Moses, Daniel, Esther, David, Elijah, Paul, and many others. These people found tremendous spiritual benefits from fasting and are an example to me.
Fasting is a great habit to develop and one that you may consider establishing as you start the upcoming new year. I personally practice and recommend fasting one day a week (consistently on the same day) and fasting for cleansing, regenerating, and rejuvenating purposes twice a year.
And always remember, fasting and juice fasting are keys to good nutrition and eating healthy with the Uri Feast.
To your health,
